Pat Quinn's 14-1 winner on Monday has rocketed him into top place on +16.91 after 9 bets, 2nd is Mark D on +14.00 (7) and 3rd Vince +13.70 (10) Rod 4th +12.30, Billy also hit the same 14-1 shot and now sits in the money on 5th +9.50.
Very classy start with the top 16 all up.
Still waiting for Val to start and she has gone very quiet so may be away.
Plate - Rod just first (on countback seconds!) on 33 points from 16 bets with me 2nd also 33 but with 5 fewer bets. Jed & Vince joint 3rd with identical records on 29 points from 10 bets.

Day 16 Sunday 27th September
All very exciting (well in a sad geeky way) loads of decent winners this weekend for example Mark D 20-1, Tim C, 12-1, me!! 8-1, this lifts Mark to 1st on +16.00 Vince stays 2nd on +14.70 and Rod 3rd on +12.50. Prize place lost in the main comp as Grahame pulled out so cash only down to 5th now.
Plate very close Jed top on 29 points (9 bets) Maurice 2nd 28 (10), Vince 27 (9), Gary D 27 (6), Rod 26 (14), Ian C 24 (10).
Only waiting for Val now to have her first bet and then we will be fully confirmed on the runners (39)

Day 12 24th September 2009

Couple pulling a little clear Rod +15.50 and Vince +13.70 after 4 winners each so far. 3rd is Jo +6.38 and 4th Pat Q +5.91. New boy Steve Taylor has started with 2 from 3 so so sits in the money on 6th.

Sorry guys and its not Vince's fault this time been away and had a laptop disaster hard drive died!!
So update Rod leads on +15.50 he followed up his 17/2 winner with a 4-1 and 10-1 since. Second is Vince +10.20 and third Jo +8.38. Generally a good start with 11 players up but with 4 players still to place their foirst bet.

Day 3 15th September 2009
Hi from avery bouyant Maurice in warm but stormy Atlanta. Bouyant that is because I'm sitting 3rd (dizzy heights for me) having gone 2 for 2 today with my second winner and on +5.50.
Obviously just a bit more to go!
Other info: 18 players still to have their first bet, today their were 18 bets with 6 winners. Alan Mabb is top after his 15/2 winner today (1 bet) and Rod is second after getting the same winner on +6.50 (2 bets) me 3rd as above. Jake 4th, Ian W, 5th and last cash place 6th Martin Long.
Plate: shared leadMartin & I on 10 points.
Cash positions still to be confirmed we have to wait until everyone has had a bet to be sure they are all in.

Well Vince has mucked up first day and not sent me the file so all I know is that there were 3 winners including me at 5-2!!!

UNDER STARTERS ORDERS

Looks like we are on 40 players which means 1st prize of GBP 1000.00 and we get an extra prize place paid in both competitions. In the plate 3rd place now is in the cash and 6th prize is paid in the main comp.
Clearly we need to wait to see if everyone actualy has a bet and we are waiting on a decision from Graham Jones of Hereford, and a few others not included in the file yet who he may talk into from the boys who are nearly in Wales (its ok they won't see this). If we fall to 39 players then we lose the 6th in the main comp.
Rather sadly some will say (well those who are not accountants) we have a complete chart that agrees the prize structure for all entries between 20 and 70. We haven't gone above that as the admin would be basically a full time job!
