End of the day group photo
Jo strangely trying for a close up of Kevin perhaps it was the way he has manfully propped up the whole leader board for most of the comp :-)
03dec16 Tale of the day
So after my cock-up with a key bet on Friday evening that meant Nigel Clifford was actually £1.05 up going into the last day Martin Long was not my best friend when I walked into the Champagne Bar! Still carefully not revealing any bets until they were all in Nigel gave Martin a sporting chance when he didn't pick the 2-7 winner that he might of but went for Irish Cavalier. So Martin's even money shot duly obliged and Irish didn't leaving Martin back on top by 95p and the champion for the 3rd time. He joins the list of just 4 people who have won it 3 times they are Lee Constable, Colin Edwards and Steve Walton.
In the plate Robert Logan (sorry we didn't meet up on course missed your text message) picked a very gutsy 10 pointer that duly obliged at 4-1 meaning he regained 3rd spot from Stuart Bentham who only managed a 3rd.
In the final race Barry Pemble rattled in a 10-1 winner which took him to 6th place in the main comp taking that form me by 24p! That also knocked Dave Brammer out of the cash and onto the bubble having been in the money for most of the 2nd half of the comp. Dave Barker & Michael Brook both picked the 8-1 winner of the Beecher didn't do either of them any good in the comp so hope they backed it.
In the plate Barry's win puts him on the same number of wins as Ian Carpenter 4, but both behind Justin Sercombe 6 wins and Vince's 10!

01dec16 Nearly there
7 winners Barry Pemble, Justin Sercombe & Stuart Bentham all the same 2-7 winner and 10 points with Ian Carpenter 5 points and 8-15. So what that means is that 1st & 2nd place in the plate is a straight fight off between Barry & Justin, 3rd and 4th is a fight off between Stuart and Robert Logan and Chris Pascoe can still catch Ian Carpenter for the last cash spot.
The other winners was a best of the day again for Paul Mott at 6-1 to go 5th, Gary Pascoe closes in on me as well with his 7-2 winner and finally Annette Berg 5-2.
