Mark Sharman goes top with a crisp 7-1 winner, 6 others notched up their first winners, Roger Dore & Tom Feeney both 4-1, Rod Brown & Tom McGarrity both 100-30, Andy Grinter & new boy Mark Lowry both 5-2.

Everyone paid or at least with Vince & I and we acquired 3 new entrants today a welcome to Chris Martin (no not that one), returner Stuart McLeod who last played in 2014 but was a very early contestant number (number 19 April 2004), and Gary Wheeler another newbie.

23 bets and 5 winners best of the day for Steve Taylor (a first time player) others were Andy Stevens 3-1, Paul Berg & Vince Paige 2-1, & Stuart Bentham 4-7.  So nothing exciting except The Paige/Berg winner was awarded the race in the stewards room - hope that's not a sign of things to come this comp!!

Paul Stobbart is first up but unfortunately, starts with a loser. We are still on a count of 54 but as I write a slow start with only 19 playing today so far.

We are back - next comp starts Sunday 29th October and ends at Cheltenham on trials day that's Saturday 27th January 2018.

Immediately up to about 25+ entrants straight away and that's without loads of the die-hard regulars like Martin Long, Ian Carpenter, Kevin Dighton
