Another entry this morning now at 19
Will Parker from Cheltenham, rookie but he sounds confident and like he fancies his chances.
We've all heard that before, bring it on :-)
I ignored Kevin's offer to start on -£5.00 and give the field a head start - we were 6 bottles of champers in by then!

Final Day
A fair few showed for the final day at Cheltenham most of which for some was spent in the Champagne bar! So Jo held on to in the end win by a sizeable margin and secure the £1,100 first prize but more importantly the cup and the glory. Only 3 winners on the last day Stuart Bentham to finish 2nd in the plate but also the best number of winners title with 32 (52.5% win rate) very impressive. Natasha Tizzano & Justin Sercombe were the other winners and they both shuffled up a couple of places at the foot of the leaderboard. Special mention for Adrian Hunt who finished in 18th on +£3.50 but yesterday was super unlucky when Captain Cat just missed at Lingfield at 20-1 which would have put him 5th.
Best rooky award goes to Mark Lowry 2nd in the number of winners total on 30 and collected in both comps great start for him. Justin Sercombe was the only other player to achieve double cash. Gary Wheeler also a rooky managed the final cash spot as well.
I have closed down the WhatsApp group this morning we can redo that when the next one starts which is not decided but definitely won't be until April possibly not until June.
We have come up with a little back to basics, winner takes all, 4-day comp just for the Cheltenham festival I will sketch out some rules and send out by email and post details here.
Happy hunting!

25JAN18 Leader wins again
One result to come (Nobby Camunzuli) and 4 winners Key one is of course Jo Hutson the leader at 11-10 to stretch to £8.25 clear other winners were Justin Sercombe 13-8 to move to 11th and on the bubble, Natasha Tizzano, best of the day, 11-4 to remain in 10th but opening a bit of a gap over Justin, and finally Stuart Bentham 30-100.

24JAN18 just two
As we all try and find that 100-1 winner the winners dry up so just 2 winners today Stuart Bentham 4-5 and 5 points but not enough to confirm Vince as the plate champion again! The only other winner was Jason McConkey best of the day 5-2. So no changes in the order of either leaderboard.

23JAN18 Great triple
3 players all hit the same 25-1 winner, Roger Dore followed up his 20-1 winner yesterday with 25-1 today to move into the cash, the other two were Chris Martin & Adrian Hunt. Also among the winners were our new leader Jo Hutson smashing 14-1 winner to take her clear at the top is that the decisive moment in the comp? Finally Ray Harper 9-2 also enough to move him onto the leaderboard.
Hope for us all yet all i need is 20-1 winners all the rest of the way :-)

22JAN18 What a pair
Two big winners Justin Sercombe & Roger Dore the same 20-1 winner it moves Justin into 10th spot the last paying position. The only other winner was Ian Carpenter 7-2 to move up one place to 13th.
If Stuart & Justin both fail to get a 10 point winner tomorrow then Vince will be confirmed winner of the plate for the 12th time from 41 comps (the early 3 comps didn't have a plate).

21JAN18 big winner
Even though Craig Connelly managed a 33-1 winner today - nice job to move from 54th to 25th and now just £3.00 down the main talking point is that yet another horse called Pete something won this time 7-1 which of course meant Pete went back to the top and in a pretty commanding position. Even if Pete has 5 losers he would still be ahead of Steve Carter unless Steve can find a winner in his last 3 bets (any price) the 1-10 on Melrose Boy now looks attractive!
So today just the 5 winners, the two above, Natasha Tizzano 1-10, but enough to move her up a cash paying spot - nice tactic, Mark Lowry rock solid in the cash picked his 30th winner maintaining his >50% strike rate and finally Brian Hammon 4-1 and sitting nicely in 4th place well in touch with the leaders.
File on its way

18JAN18 New Leader
Well, an old one really returning to the top after picking up a 10-11 winner to go a few pence clear and 2 bets in hand. A total of 8 winners today a nice 10-1 winner for Brian Hammon to move 4th and well in the mix for the top spot as we turn into the home straight. Others were Annette Berg & Ian Carpenter both 9-4, Dave Klein & Mark Sharman both 9-2 to move into the bubble position, Darren Mills 4-1, Natasha Tizzano also moving higher up after a 5-1 winner & finally 5-6 and 5 points to Stuart in 2nd in the plate who made up a small amount of progress on the runaway leader as he switched to looking for decent odds and cash in the main comp and failed to find them!

17JAN18 Just 4
Winners that is Tom McGarrity 5-4, Ian Carpenter 6-4, Dave Brammer 6-1 to move to 12th and by far the best of the day for Richard Pascoe 16-1 pretty good but needs another one tomorrow to get onto the leaderboard!

16JAN17 A few moves
8 winners today including Vince, Stuart, Justin, Mark Lowry all on the 1-3 5 pointer. The others were Darren Mills 15-2 to lift him to 5th, but best of the day is a follow up winner for Natasha Tizzano after her 25-1 shot Saturday today a 12-1 winner to move her into then cash and 9th spot. Steve Carter finally found a winner to go 2nd just 55p behind with a game in hand so pretty even I would say. Finally Tom McGarrity 6-4.
Monday, 15 January 2018
15JAN17 quiet
Despite losing 10 bets to the abandonment of Plumpton today we still notched up 8 winners they were of most significance Brian Hammon 11-2 to move up 2 spots to 5th, Annette Berg 7-4, Joint best of the day for Carl Dean & Kevin Wood both 11-1, Dave Brammer & Jamie Hill both 4-1 (and 9-4 from Saturday that I missed), Justin Sercombe brought up a 6 timer and 10 from the last 11 bets at 4-7, & Kevin Roberts also 11-2 to lift to 10th the final cash paying position.

13JAN18 leader wins
Pete Long sneaks in an even money winner to stretch his lead a little as those around him all had losers. Total winners for the day was 8 including four of the plate boys all on the same 4-7, 5 point winner, and Mark Lowry completing the set with his own 8-13 winner for 3 points. Away from the low prices were Martin Long 4-1 best of the day and Nobby Camunzuli 2-1.
Friday, 12 January 2018
12JAN18 no change
Pretty much still as close at the top, Jo went 2nd but only by virtue of sitting out. 9 winner 6 of them were low odds 5 point winners for the top 6 in the plate, the other 3 were Andy Stevens 9-2 to move 8th, Helen Fahey 6-4, and best of the day 7-1 for Tommy Smith that puts him in 17th just off the leaderboard.
Thursday, 11 January 2018
11JAN18 Very tight at the top
8 winners today a few on the same horse that won at 10-11, they were Kevin Roberts, Stuart Bentham, Mark Lowry & Vince Paige. Other among the winners were Paul Berg 4-1, Annette Berg best of the day 6-1, Gary Dighton 15-8 & Justin Sercombe 4-6.

10JAN18 Double Diamond
5 winners on Tuesday & 9 today. So just the highlights of which there were a few Paul Berg made it to the leaderboard with a 14-1 winner, Gary Wheeler picked up a 20-1 winner (or was it fluked!) but nonetheless, it zoomed him up to 4th and in touch with the leaders. Joanne Hutson also yesterday had a 7-1 winner to go 3rd just one small winner off the top spot. But the best of the two days was Ray Harper a very slow start transformed by his 25-1 winner that moves him into the top half.
