Hello everyone - Happy Xmas and New Year to all naps compers!
Go Constitution on Boxing day - I'll be there, highlight of the holidays for me
the were a couple of moves on the leader board George Casserly had a 10-1 winner & Adrian Hunt a 9-1 winner which was enough for 2nd place as Jake's lost
Full update and excel tomorrow morning
Two results to come and so far just Spenser Mills with a cracking 22-1 winner to go 4th
See you tomorrow at Chelters
7 in total but the two big ones were Gary Cawsey 33-1 & Andy Stevens 25-1 this put bot of them positive and just below 10th spot. The other winners were Jake Fifield 4-1, Dave Brammer 2-1, George Casserly 10-11, Mark Nutting 100-30, Shelly Wood 11-10.
Paul Berg's 15-2 winner to moved him 2nd and following him into 3rd was Jake Field with his 11-2 winner and that was it for today.
Paul has 5 courses to go for the full set not 4 and they are Perth, Fakenham, Taunton, Hereford, Ffos Las, could probably kill the last 3 in one trip to this neck of the woods quite easily.
They were Ian carpenter 13-8 & Jason Stevens 5-2 so pretty much no changes on the leader boards
Most significant was Jake Fifield 13-2 to go from 5th to 2nd but Andy still sitting pretty £18+ clear of the field and has 4 less bets to go. Ben Cheetham & Colin Warmington both 7-2, Gary Pascoe 2-1, George Casserly 8-15, finally Pete Long 6-4.
Mark Lowry & Vince Paige both 4-9, Frank Tubman a very nice 20-1 winner but he was a long way back and probably needs another one! Finally Dave Brammer 9-4 to bring him back onto the leader board.
Yep a big one 33-1 for Spenser Mills to move to 8th from a very lowly position yesterday. Vince, Stuart & Mark at the top of the plate all had a 5 point 8-11 winner, Paul Berg moved up 2 places to 4th with a 7-2 winner, Jason Stevens 9-2 and Tom Feeney 12-1 were the final two.
To me & Ian Carpenter!!
6 winners and the stand out news was the leader possibly wrapping the whole thing up with a 12-1 winner and going £16+ clear the other 5 were Vince Paige 2-7, Ian Carpenter 5-2, Paul Berg 3-1 to move up one place, Richard Pascoe 7-4 to sit 12th and Tom Feeney 11-8.
Del Mar now for the start of the Breeders Cup and to see Lake Victoria take the juvenile sprint!
All the dormy players have now reached 41 bets so the 33-1 max restriction is lifted for everyone from tomorrow. Back to today and there were 7 winners, the top two in the plate scraped a 1-3 winner each as Mark Lowry passes last comps winning total with 14 bets in hand! The total points to get on the top 10 of all time leader board is 266 so 77 required from 14 - tough! The other 4 winners were best of the day for Andy Warmington to go 2nd with an 8-1 winner, Dave Brammer nudged up one spot with a 6-4 winner, And Gary Pascoe did likewise with an 11-4 winner, finally Helen Fahey 13-8 & Roger Dore 6-1.
22-1 for Richard Pascoe enough to take him positive (+£4.63) but still short of leader board in 12th. Four other winners Robert Logan & me 3-1 and 10 points - look out Vince! George Casserly 15-8 to grab 2nd place back from Paul, Jimmy McGarrity 9-2, on what was a nice days racing with Napscompers at at least 2 courses Chelters & Donny
Tommy Smith after 97 consecutive losers including all of the last comp has finally hit a winner 15-2, I suppose there could almost be tinge of disappointment he didn't bring up the century! There was only one other winner on a slow day Helen Fahey 2-1.
Just another 3 winners they were Andy Stevens 9-4, Steve Carter 5-2, & best of the day for Karl Noble 100-30.
Just 3 winners Mark Lowry & me 6-5 and 10 points and Jake Fifield brings up a 4 timer with a 9-4 winner to move up to 6th.
Just noticed that the end of comp on the title bar had 17th November as the end date that was wrong it is Cheltenham Saturday 16th November
Hope to see you all there!
8 winners Stuart, Robert & Mark in the plate all the same 5-6 winner, Steve Taylor & Jake Fifield 5-2, Carol Carter off the mark 9-2, Jason Stevens 5-1, and last but certainly not lest Adrian Hunt slots in another great winner at 14-1 to zoom clear at the top on +£40.50 - is that the decisive move of the comp?
Tables update later with Saturdays included
8 winners Mark Lowry & Stuart Bentham both 2-5, Gary Pascoe & Paul Stobbart both 2-7, Jake Fifield 5-2, Jimmy McGarrity 3-1, Mark Sharman & Richard Hunt both 7-1, enough to take Richard back to the leader board.
All happening at the top of the table today, George Casserly bangs in a 9-2 winner to regain the lead but only for a few minutes as Adrian Hunt lays down a real marker with a 20-1 winner to again surge clear for a couple of hours for the leader to show his class and land a 15-2 winner to regain and retain his top spot. All that leaves us now even further of the top. Apart from those 3 there was Stuart Bentham even money winner, Dave Brammer 9-4, Frank Tubman 11-4 & finally both Gary Pascoe & Helen Fahey scored with a 2-5 winner.
Just two successful selections today both on the same horse the 6-1 winner of the sprint trophy, they were Gary Pascoe now 4th and Paul Berg now the new leader, looks like the 3rd win might be on!
Not for long as George hits straight back and retakes the lead by 34p after a 5-2 winner, the same price as Pete Long's winner which puts him 12th. There were 6 winners in total the other 4 were Mark Lowry 1-2, Roger Dore 7-1, Richard Hunt 7-2 to go 11th and finally another 5-2 winner for George Waters.
On my way back home today but yesterday (Monday) saw just 5 winners Vince Paige fluked a winner after my selection fell at the last 7-2 for him and 5 points. Jimmy McGarrity 100-30, Mark Nutting 5-2, Paul Stobbart evens, & best of the day for Tom Feeney at 13-2 to go back into positive territory and 18th spot.
Tuesday will be updated Wednesday
Again just two winners and both nice prices the first of significance 9-1 for Adrian Hunt moving him right into contention in 3rd and one rather more shall we say inspired 20-1 for Pete Long (beat the plate boys selection into 2nd by a nose) to move him £4.00 up and 12th - of course I'm sure nothing to do with the names of his children :-)
So only two successes on Wednesday but nice winners at 17-2 on the same horse for Robert Dudley & Steve Carter
11 winners today 3of us on the same 2-5 winner, me, Mark Lowry & George Casserly, Stuart Bentham 4-9, Dave Fifield & Spenser Mills both 11-4, Gary Pascoe 11-2 to go 3rd, George Waters 11-8, Helen Fahey & Jake Fifield & Paul Berg all 7-2.
File on its way
No not the 250-1 winner at Listowel but 18-1 for Tom Feeney, he was well off the pace so this takes him to mid division. I managed to keep the purple patch going with the 8-1 winner of the Cambridgeshire and that was it from 44 bets today.
7 winners on Friday Vince & Mark Lowry both got a nice 11-4 10 point winner to ruffle up the leader board in the plate, I brought up a treble with a 100-30 winner, best of the day was Dave Brammer 15-2 to go +£2.58. The other 3 were Dave Klein & Frank Tubman both 7-2 & Andy Warmington 3-1.
Yep another holiday from tomorrow so travelling then so no update until Saturday morning and I expect all update through to my return on 09oct24 will also be following morning, apologies for disruption but a man has to do what a man has to do!
6 winners today Stuart Bentham with a positive long shot for him 2-1, Vince & Mark Lowry the same 2-5 winner, so no real change in the plate. Colin Warmington also 2-1 to return to the leader board, Jason Stevens takes best of the day with a 5-2 winner and finally me at 11-8.
But fewer winner 8 in total half of them were the 4-9 5 point winner picked by the top 3 in the plate & Paul Stobbart, best of the day was me 6-1, Kevin Dighton went 2nd with a 3-1 winner Karl Noble 5-2, & Ronan Casserly 5-2 were the rest.
Yes 10 winners today all the top 4 in the plate on the same 1-4 winner, Andy Warmington & Robert Dudley both 100-30, Gary Dighton 7-4, Ian Carpenter & Martin Long both evens, & Steve Taylor 3-1.
The racing on offer that is and that showed in the very small number of players but despite that we still managed 4 winners Steve Taylor 4-5 Gary Pascoe 5-2, Gary Cawsey 5-1 and just best of the day ay 11-2 was Jake Fifield.
5 winners today and 3 of them were the 7-4 10 pointer for Vince, Mark Lowry & Robert Logan - so that shook up the plate leader board a bit. The other two were Shelly Wood 2-1 and the best of the day for Karl Noble 5-2
Six winners between us Gary Pascoe 11-4 to shuffle up the leader board a bit, Adrian Hunt 10-1 to zoom up to 6th, Richard Hunt a tidy 7-2 winner to go 2nd, John Caley 6-1 to go £1 up, Karl Noble 9-2, but bet of the day and a long time coming was Paul Stobbart 20-1 winner of the Gold Cup to move to +£1, dare I say, poised to strike onto the leader board.
That's all we managed Vince Paige 4-9 but improves his standing in the plate as basically all the rest had losers and a very nice best of the day for Steve Taylor 14-1 and zooms straight up to 5th
7 winners again for us and a nice joint best of the day for Jake Fifield & Adrian Hunt at 17-2 that takes them 14th & 11th respectively and both positive. George Casserly scores another at 15-8 to move <£6 ahead of the field. Colin Warmington made progress on both leader boards with his 7-2 winner that's 3 in the last 4 for Colin and following him up the leader board is his grandson Harry with a 3-1 winner. The final 2 were Dave Brammer 100-30 & Jason Stevens finally off the mark with a 4-1 winner.
For the nerds among us i.e. Vince & me Andy Warmington sets a new record having achieved the same SP 13-2, for each of his last 5 selections - never happened before - sorry no prize! I suppose also a record with 3 generations of the same clan all getting a mention in the blog on the same day as well.
I need to get out more
9 winners today 3 of us all on the 1-2 winner Vince, me & Robert Logan, nice 11-2 winner for Colin Warmington to take him back onto both leader boards, his son Andy 13-2, our leader picked up a 9-4 winner to move a little clear. The final 3 were Karl Noble 7-4, Mark Nutting & Ray Harper both 11-2
Nice winner at 9-1 for Gary Dighton to go 3rd. the only others to trouble the scores were Colin Warmington 2-1, and Tom McGarrity at 2-5.
Sorry for the delay tough gig on course yesterday with a 3 hour drive each way, but well worth it small group of us there and with owners badges courtesy of Dave Klein
L to R Andy, Dave Klein, Maurice Edgington, Stuart Bentham
So to the racing Steve Taylor from LV picks another winner 4-1 to make the leader board, 3 players Stuart Bentham Robert Logan & Mark Lowry all on the same 5-4 winner, Gary Dighton 100-30, Ian carpenter making double figures number of winners with an 11-4 winner, finally shelly Wood best of the day 9-2.
In the parade ring
Seven winners today and a super one for Richard (Tricky) Hunt 18-1 that zooms him up to 3rd and a live contender. Others were me 7-2, Harry Warmington 2-1, Mark Lowry 11-8 to draw level at the top of the plate only missing top spot on number of seconds count back, Helen Fahey & Kevin Wood both off the mark with 7-2 & 7-4 winners respectively. Finally there was a five point winner for Robert Logan (5-6) perhaps getting a bit more back into the groove recently to put up a defence to his title in the plate
Nice gentle day at Lords today for a county game and an afternoon in the long room. Only 3 winners for us today Martin Long 7-2 which was enough to get him into a cash position on the leader board, Andy Warmington off the mark 11-4, and Richard Hunt best of the day 6-1 to go £2.00 up
Best of the day by a country mile was Dave Klein off the mark in style with a 14-1 winner and straight into 8th on the leader board. Stuart Bentham & George Waters both 1-6 winners (different horses), Mark Lowry & Ian Carpenter both 8-13 winners and Steve Taylor napping all the way from LV found an 11-2 winner to put him back to +70p.
And the 6 were Jimmy McGarrity 4-1, Karl Noble & Mark Nutting 9-4, Paul Berg 6-1, best of the day and goes 3rd, Paul Stobbart off the mark 2-1 & Ronan Casserly 9-4.
Well very nearly as Kevin Dighton Scores for the second time with Northern spirit this comp this time at 17-2 to go 2nd by just 27p. Only 2 other winners today they were Gary Pascoe 5-1 to go 4th and Harry Warmington 6-5.
8 winners for us Saturday George Casserly and Gary Pascoe both 3-1 to increase George's lead at the top, Roger Dore best of the day, makes a first appearance this comp on the leader board with a 4-1 winner, Gary Dighton goes 4th with a 5-2 winner the same as Mark Lowry who continues his steady progress up both leader boards. Steve Carter 100-30, Ian Carpenter evens and Richard Hunt 4-1, were the final three winners.
Four winners today, Terry Matthews best of the day 13-2, Tom Feeney off the mark at 15-8, Mark Lowry getting into his stride now 3 from the last 4 at 1-2 and finally Martin Long 4-1
Kevin Dighton leaps to 2nd place after securing the best winner of the comp so far at 16-1, only other winner was Stuart Bentham nudging a little clear with 5 points and 5-4.
Ian Carpenter the only winner on Sunday 11-4 just enough to put him on the leader board in the plate which was the only change on either leader board.
Super busy day and loads of winners 12 in total, so here goes: best of the day for Paul Berg 11-1 and back up to 3rd, the 2 above him kept up their great start George Casserly 5-4, Harry Warmington 13-8. Robert Logan & Stuart Bentham popping in a cert 5 points with the same 2-5 winner, things certainly hotting up in the plate in this comp!
Dave Sharman off the mark with a 13-2 winner to put him back to positive, Gary Pascoe & Mark Sharman both 5-4, Gary Dighton 9-2 that's 3 from 4 for GD and 4th place. Ian Carpenter 1-3, and finally Richard Pascoe & Mark Lowry both 13-8
Only 7 winners though, plate boys, Vince & Stuart both had the same 5 point 1-2 winner, Gary Pascoe 3-1 to move up to 7th, Harry Warmington 11-4, Ian Carpenter 1-2, Mark Lowry 3-1 and best of the day for Mark Sharman off the mark with a 17-2 winner to get to the leader board in 9th.
Colin Warmington pops in a nice 14-1 winner to go 3rd & Kevin Dighton follows him onto the leader board with a 15-2 winner to go 4th. Three other winners George Casserly again 4-9, Gary Dighton 11-8, & finally Karl Noble 9-2.
5 winners Gary Pascoe 6-1 best of the day and goes back onto the leader board, Vince Paige 10 points & 11-10 to go top of the plate, Stuart Bentham 1-2, Ian Carpenter 5-6 & Tom McGarrity off the mark with a 4-1 winner
Top 2 win again George 6-5 Harry 2-1, best of the day and off the mark for Martin Long 15-2 and the 4th and final winner was Steve Taylor also 2-1.
Another 9 winners again today, George Casserly wins again 3-1 5 from 5 now, Andy Stevens 11-4, Ben Cheetham 4-1, Gary Cawsey 5-2, George Waters & Harry Warmington 3-1, Mark Nutting, Steve Carter, & Ray Harper all 7-2.
9 winners today majority not at York. 5 players getting off the mark including best of the day Pete Long 6-1, Shelly Wood 11-2, Karl Noble 10-11, Ronan Casserly 4-9, Gary Cawsey 4-1. George Casserly unstoppable 3 from 3 with 3-1 winner now £13.50 clear! Dave Brammer 9-2 to go 5th, Stuart Bentham 2-5 & a good catch for Vince 10 points and 2-1 to sit on the bubble in the main comp and back in play in the plate.
Travelling tomorrow so expect Sunday morning update
9 winners today so comp has started pretty hot. Paul Berg maintains 100% record with 2 from 2 and goes top with a 100-30 winner. Two other players went to 2 winners me with my not too risky 1-8 winner and Stuart Bentham 1-3 and 5 points to go top of the plate on count back. The other 6 winners were Colin Warmington 100-30, Dave Brammer, Ian Carpenter & Harry Warmington all 6-4, Frank Tubman also 5-1 to go 4th, and Richard Pascoe another 5-1 winner to go 3rd at this early stage.
York trip kicked off with a test night at Napoleon's Casino for Paul, Stuart & I, of course just to case the joint ready for dinner tomorrow although we did finish up a little, a good start to the wagering this week, looking forward to the Juddmonte tomorrow a classy renewal & Godolphin's £2.3M 2yo in the G3.
30 players today and only 16 of us 53 left to start, another 6 winners they were Darren Mills & George Waters both on the same 9-2 winner, Stuart Bentham & Mark Lowry both on the same 4-11 winner, Jake Fifield 3-1 and Robert Logan 8-13. All that leaves a familiar look to the top of the plate and Dave Fifield retains the main lead.
Forgot to welcome the 3 new players Harry Warmington, so 3 generations of the Warmington's playing Colin, Andy & Harry, Karl Noble a recruit from N Wales from my time up there, & Ronan Casserly, son of George, who got roped in on Kevin's 60th Windsor lads night, mainly because of the Oxford greyhound tips he got that evening!
Not many played on the first day (16 out of 53) but 6 winners so pretty positive. The day kicked off with Steve Taylor and Vince Paige both picking the only 10 point winner at 3-1, Mark Nutting also scored with a 3-1 winner, Paul Berg was top for a short while with an opening 11-2 winner but pipped by Dave Fifield 13-2 winner (back after a long break since December 2012!). Finally I managed a 11-8 winner as well.
Will send out the excel but might be late/in the morning have to gather the group email together, as above 53 players (more always welcome) 2 still to pay, we will announce the prizes in a few days but plate will run to 4 spots and the main comp to the top 9
Hi
looking good for a decent number over 50 this time
Latest stats are
Seems like the plans sent out have met with general acceptance so Comp #53 will be:
Start Sunday 18th August - the week of the York Ebor meeting
Finish Saturday 17th November - Open meeting, Cheltenham
All other T&C's the same - no inflation here!
Three winners and by far the most significant the 8-13 winner for Chris Pascoe to win the comp - congratulations! Richard Hunt captured the final cash position from Gary Cawsey with his 11-2 winner & finally Vince secured 2nd in the plate with Troy's wine in the Eclipse
Back to 2nd half of ET to see if we can avoid penalties!
Just 2 winners for us today Jimmy McGarrity 11-4 & Ben Cheetham 9-2 to put him well in the mix
Probably the best day of the comp 6 winners best was Dave Sharman 40-1 to steal 3rd from me! Martin Long & Richard Pascoe both 33-1, Sonya Paige 28-1, Gary Pascoe 13-2 and Chris Pascoe narrowing the gap as Jason's lost with his 4-9 winner.
By the football then forgot!
4 winners important ones as well, Jason Stevens takes over at the top with a 6-1 winner despite yet another winner for Chris Pascoe 8-11 good good scrap at the top. Vince found a 10 pointer to put the pressure for 2nd place back on Tom McGarrity, Helen Fahey made treble figures in the plate with a 13-8 winner
Just 3 winners for us today Ben Cheetham 7-2, Jason Stevens 11-5 and ENGLAND
Messed up logistics will be back home lunchtime today so will get to it asap
Jason Stevens takes over at the top after a 10-1 winner to Chris Pascoe's 8-11 winner so just 29p in it. Those 2 were 2 of 7 winners Gary Pascoe 9-4, Helen Fahey 6-4, Ian Carpenter 11-4, Shelly Wood also on the same 10-1 winner but still a fair way behind and finally Tom McGarrity 5-6 to keep Vince interested!
One of only 3 today but 33-1 for Ben Cheetham to go from 27th to 5th - nice shot. Other two winners was yet another consolidating in first place winner for Chris Pascoe 11-8 and 5 points for Steve Taylor with a 4-5 winner.
GO ENGLAND 5-0 WILL DO!
Yes that's me best of the day 11-1 winner to go 3rd and back with a chance, 5 other winners Carol Carter & Vince Paige both 6-1, Chris Pascoe & Robert Logan both 1-4 and finally Mark Nutting 5-2 to make it back to the leader board.
Four winners today the leader again evens, Gary Pascoe 13-8, Robert Logan also evens with Andy Warmington best of the day at 7-2 - and that was all!
Caused by two of the principals picking the same 16-1 winner (Isle of Jura), they were Gary Cawsey now 3rd and Jason Stevens now 2nd, tight at the top again. Not to be left out of the 16-1 fest was also Robert Dudley who moves to just £9.00 down so not out of it. As well as those 3 winners there were 3 more Gary Pascoe 11-8, Helen Fahey 4-5, & Steve Taylor 7-2 & 10 points putting him back in the race for cash in the plate.
Just one winner on Friday that was for our leader Chris Pascoe at 9-4 - good play its getting tougher each day to catch him!
And that was for me 20-1 at Royal Ascot and that zooms me up to 2nd spot and the first player who will definitely finish positive! 19 years (March 2005 comp #11) since I have won - can I not panic and push on to a win! Sure Vince will lay that :-)
The other winners were both 5-2 (Rosallion) for Tom McGarrity & Gary Cawsey who sit 12th & 13th respectively
Just two winners for us today and for the second day in a row the whole leaderboard just falls back a £1.00 each! The winners were a resounding 20-1 for Darren Mills now just £4.00 down in 12th and Helen Fahey 2-5 to move 5th in the plate.
7 winners in total topped by Darren Mills at 11-1 to go 11th just £2.00 down, others were Frank Tubman 3-1, Gary Pascoe 7-1, Kevin Wood 5-4, Paul Stobbart 7-4, Robert Logan 8-11 & Tom McGarrity 4-6.
5 winners Andy Warmington & Richard Hunt both 4-1, Kevin Dighton 11-8, Mark Lowry, best of the day 9-1 & Robert Dudley 5-2 - that's all folks!
Some nice winners today best was Mark Nutting 20-1 to go 15th at just £4.00 down, Pete Long nearly matched Mark with a 16-1 shot to go 21st at £9.81 down. The other 5 winners were Frank Tubman 11-8, Helen Fahey 100-30, Ian Carpenter 8-13, Mark Sharman 11-1 & Tom Feeney 9-1.
All in all pretty good
Steve Carter picks the 125-1 winner of the first at Beverley, expect he is gutted that he has only had 33 bets so is caught by the rule that restricts the first 41 bets to a maximum of 33-1 - lucky for the rest of us!
Still he has the honour of the best ever winner from the 122,000 selections in all the comps so far - wow
Pleasingly (for me) one of them was me again 7-2 + Jimmy McGarrity 5-6
What a rubbish performance last night Iceland again!
Easy update just the one winner for Maurice Edgington, 2-1 - Oh! that's me :-)
Out tonight from 6pm so already too many evening selections so update will be delayed until the morning
Firstly a logistical problem if England win group C and make the semi finals that match is on 6th July at 6.00pm so complete clash with the final day of this comp. Perhaps thinking of having a blank day in the last week (no-one has a bet, no forced losers) so we push the final day to the Sunday - make a decision when we know the group outcome if they finish 2nd then their semi would be the Friday, surely they can't finish 3rd!
Today 6 winners and another good day for Richard Hunt moved into 3rd with the best of the day again at 7-1. The other 5 winners were, Gary Cawsey 13-8, Luke Silk 6-4, Ray Harper off the mark with a 4-1 winner, Steve Taylor 2-1 & 10 points to go back 2nd in the plate and Robert Logan 1-4.
Think that sums up my Epsom experience this year :-)
So just the 3 winners below and didn't 3-1 seem like a great price in hindsight and Darren Mills 4-1
All data retrieved yesterday 6 winners & today 6, Ben Cheetham & Gary Pascoe both 11-8, Andy Warmington and Andy Stevens & Jason Stevens both 5-1, Dave Brammer the only double winner, 15-8 & 6-5, Me 11-4, Mark Lowry 6-5, Richard Hunt 3-1, Robert Logan 8-11 & finally Shelly Wood 6-4. So after all that not really much change to the leader boards.
Sorry dropped coffee on the laptop last night and its gone to meet its maker!
Laptop hospital has found its brain and this has been extracted
So unless i redo the missing days i need to wait until tomorrow best case to update
Sorry
Gary Pascoe continues the transformation with another winner 6-4 to go 6-4, Eight other winners Andy Stevens 16-1 and best of the day, goes 7th, Ben Cheetham 100-30, Darren Mills & Robert Dudley both 14-1, Mark Lowry & both Helen Fahey 15-8, Roger Dore off the mark also with a 15-8 winner and finally Robert Logan 5 points and 11-10.
For Gary Pascoe 2 days ago winless, dormy and bottom now after yesterday and another good winner at 12-1 today on the leader board and in the hunt. Four other winners today, Helen Fahey again! this time 2-1 but not quite enough to make both leader boards but gets to the plate, Frank Tubman keeping up the pressure on the leaders with a 7-4 winner, Kevin Wood brings up a double with a 15-8 winner and that does put him back on both leader boards, finally Paul Stobbart 5-4.
Sorry for the cut back updates had to revert to paper as I forgot my laptop power cable!
Excel inbound
Apparently that means town or town ground (sort of small district) in Ulster Scots language
7 winners Kevin Wood 8-1 and Gary Pascoe 9-1 were the two stand outs. Four all at 3-1 Jimmy McGarrity, FrankTubman, Ian Carpenter & Mark Sharman with Robert Logan 10-11 and 5 points
Full update later
3 winners on Friday Mark Lowry 11-8, Dave Brammer best of the day 7-2, & Helen Fahey 7-4
3 winners again today Paul Berg 15-8, Robert Dudley best of the day and off the mark at 7-2 and Vince 4-5 to gain 5 points and take 2nd from Steve Taylor
4 winners Pete Feeney 9-4 to move a little further clear at the top, Carol Carter best of the day 8-1 Gary Cawsey 6-1 to go 7th, Luke Silk 6-4
66-1 for Chris Pascoe (again as in earlier comps) so luckily for us restricted to 33-1, still obviously enough to zoom him up to 4th spot. Actually another good day with 7 other winners Frank Tubman & me both 11-4, Jimmy McGarrity, Ben Cheetham & Richard Hunt all 2-1, Helen Fahey brings up a treble and moves onto the leader board with a 5-2 winner, finally Paul Stobbart 5-6, rounding off a good day.
A first for this comp double figure number of winners 10 (excluding the selection for TF in the last), so here goes, Frank Tubman & Gary Dighton both 7-2, Helen Fahey, Spenser Mills, & Luke Silk 3-1, Ian Carpenter 9-4 to go positive, Mark Nutting 100-30, Paul Berg best of the day 15-2, Robert Logan 8-13, 7 finally Tom Feeney off the mark with a nice 7-1 winner.
CORECTION: Gary Cawsey also had a 3-1 winner - missed it came in really early so that moves him to 12p and onto the leader board in 8th
Five winners between us but as there were 33 selections not exactly top tipping! Those that were successful were topped by Spenser Mills closing in on 2nd with a 8-1 winner, Luke Silk brought up a treble 11-10, Ross Harvey 5-2, Vince Paige 13-2 and Robert Logan 1-3 were the rest.
Forget to mention that at the north/south convention thoughts were that we could start #53 just before the Ebor meeting (so we can go to York which is a great course) and then we could finish on the Sunday of the Cheltenham Open meeting. That's the working hypothesis so get the dates in the diary, Sunday 17th November
Just two winners today and we are now down to just 5 people up, don't remember seeing it this bad before. todays winners were a focused plate winner for Robert Logan at 1-12 but 5 more points, and 4-1 for Richard Pascoe.
Good day at York although devoid of winners and it was a north meets south event as (L-R) Steve Taylor, me & Stuart Bentham finally met on course even though Stuart first joined in October 2010 and Steve in October 2017.
Seven winners on Tuesday and some useful ones, Gary Cawsey 10-1 to go 7th, Luke Silk 8-1 to go 10th, Dave Sharman beating them both at 12-1 to be just £4.00 down, Ian Carpenter 13-2 to be just a few pence of the leader board, Helen Fahey off the mark 9-4. Mark Nutting 4-1 and Ross Harvey 4-9 were the final two.
4 winners, Luke Silk off the mark 11-8, Paul Berg 7-2, Paul Stobbart 5-1, Richard Hunt 6-1 enough to get him onto the leader board
3 winners Tom McGarrity 8-11, Mark Lowry 5-6, Paul Stobbart 7-4 on a tough day all round
Nice day at the festivals meeting today, 3 winners for us, Ben Cheetham 9-4 (my only winner on course today), Mark Lowry 11-8 7 Kevin Wood 9-2 to do himself a bit of good on both leader boards
In the sense of just two winners Frank Tubman 100-30 & Robert Logan 10-11 to go 5 clear in the plate
More than half todays naps in this one race 15 selections on 11 different horses - what chance we miss :-)
Update excludes Andy Stevens 8.25 selection.
So before that, just 3 winners but a great 16-1 pick for Pete Feeney to go top and clear. Only other winner was for Mark Nutting & Kevin Wood 9-4.
Well 6, Kevin Wood & I both on the same horse for the second day in a row 15-8, Tom McGarrity & Frank Tubman also the same selection 6-4, Mark Nutting off the mark 7-4 and Pete Feeney best of the day 9-2 to close in on the leader
Three winners one horse Teahupoo 5-6 for me Tom McGarrity & Kevin Wood so very little change anywhere
Five winners, joint best of the day were me and Darren Mills 6-1 (different picks) which at this early stage was enough to put us both on the leader board. Vince & Mark Lowry both 16-5 and 10 points with Carol Carter getting a winner in the last of the day at 100-30 making up the five.
4 winners today all pretty moderate Gary Cawsey & Frank Tubman both 13-8, me 11-8 & Tom McGarrity 2-1.
Five winners and a new leader after Pete Feeney picked a nice 11-1 winner to just make it to the top, the others were Robert Logan & Ross Harvey both 2-5 and 10 points and Richard Pascoe 9-4 and Ian Carpenter 1-7
but of some significance as our defending champion gets a v nice 14-1 winner to go 2nd the only other was for Jimmy McGarrity who got of the mark with a 3-1 shot.
Kevin Dighton 18-1 to go 2nd with 3 other winners Tom McGarrity Richard Hunt & Paul Stobbart, 8-11, 5-1 & 5-2 respectively
Just two winners again they were Tom McGarrity, 4-9 and a decent winner for the defending champion at 17-2 to go 3rd
28 players but not much improvement on our strike rate just 3 winners, Kevin Dighton & Ben Cheetham both 4-1 and Paul Stobbart 7-4 was all we managed.
This comp definitely still to get going just 13 players today on what was admittedly a crap days racing1 Two winners Robert Logan 4-11 & Tom McGarrity 4-7.
I'll send the first excel out later, it does still have some possible players included we will give them another week especially Shelly & Helen who both said they are playing but no cash or communication so it may be that we are just 43 for this one
Lots of bet went down on Corach best we got was Delta in 2nd. Apart from the GN there were just 2 winners best was Pete Feeney 9-2 consolidating in 2nd and the only other scorer was Robert Logan 6-5.
Jason Stevens goes 2 for 2 with the only winner today at 15-2 to close down on the early leader, biggest day but still only 16 played. Expecting more now we have the Aintree meeting starting
Got a bit side tracked by footie and dinner, 2 winners on Wednesday mark Lowry 4-9 & Jason Stevens 5-1 to go 2nd, still very few players, a total of only 35 in the 3 days so far.
Pete Feeney 16-1 to zoom top from a very slow day only 8 played, one other winner Robert Logan setting out his stall for another pop at the plate especially as the defending champion Stuart Bentham is sitting out Robert's winner was 8-15.
Still waiting to hear from 9 players 7 below and Audrey & Shelly
One winner 7-2 for Ben Cheetham but there were only 12 players today.
We have 40 players confirmed and paid + 3 confirmed not paid (Helen Fahey, Shelly Wood, & Gary Dighton).
We also haven't yet heard anything from the following 7 who played last time, Audrey Duffy, Mark Sharman, Dave Sharman, Brendan Bergin, Chris Martin, John Heneghan Dave Klein.
So file not complete so won't send excel until next week.
36 in and paid with 2 new players, a few look like they are sitting out and 4 said yes but cash not in yet
Think we should be looking at mid 40s as the final total so still should get us to £1,000 first prize
We have 27 paid and 4 confirmed to pay so good strong start and plenty of those we haven't heard from are regulars so should be decent turnout
