Nice G1 race with some top novices presumably all looking to stake their claim for the Supreme at Cheltenham.
Clearly Poet couldn't have done any more last time out, a good flat horse with wins in listed company was very impressive at Newbury and looks to have a liking for soft going, and of course the winner of this is going to need to like it bottomless! That said I'm only seeing Poet as a live danger and not the winner - I expect that both Royal Boy and Melodic Rendezvous to finish ahead of him! Why? the form at Cheltenham in December when Melodic ran really well up the hill always holding Royal Boy a classic sign that he had a bit more to give. The course is tougher than flat Newbury OK you could argue that the race at Cheltenham was not run at full pace but both of them were a decent way ahead of Eduard who bolted up in his race before. Finally don't forget Melodic was 2nd in the Punchestown Festival bumper last year also quality form
So it's Melodic Rendezvous for me All three of them show at about 7-2 this evening but with only 7 runners at most each way not an option.
