In the plate Rod's 1-3f got turned over and finished 2nd so he gave up 3 points of his lead to Kevin W. Rod has 69 points from 29 bets and Kevin 67 points also from 29 bets.
At the foot of the table, having broken his duck yesterday, Justin followed up with another winner. Mistake in the report yesterday, we are still waiting for both Ian W and Gary C to get their first winners.

Yes on Monday Vince popped in another 7-1 winner to restore his lead to over 30.00 from the whole field :-(
Reasonable hit rate over the last two days in total there have been 39 bets and 11 winners a few of note Ian C 7-1, Tim 13-2 and Mark K with a double at 5-4 & 2-1.

CHANGE ON EXCEL
Hi on the excel this week you will notice two new columns "No. of runners" and "test plate scoring" you can ignore these they DO NOT effect this competition.
We are testing a new scoring system so the plate as we think getting the same 5 points for a winner of a three horse race and a 30 runner handicap is not fair this may be introduced in the next comp after we have assessed the scoring for the second half of this comp.

So Saturday 18 bets just 4 winners best was me at 8-1 with Rod & jake both picking the same 5-1 winner (I managed to back both of these for a tasty 57-1 double!) other wionner was Neil.
Sunday 12 bets and just 2 winners 2-1 for Roger and another winner for Neil at 5-2.

15jul10 better again
Sorry missed yesterday travelling back from USA - nothing much happened anyway
A bit better today 6 winners from 20 bets, Jake had a 4-1 winner to go second and reel in the leader a bit who is now only 14.37 clear
Plate couple of good days for Kevin W has moved him closer in 2nd on 56 points from 25 bets still 6 behind Rod who has had 1 bet fewer. Gary D in joint 3rd on 46 points looks best placed with 6 bets in hand on the leader.
First dormy warning for Jamie who has only 2 spare days left already 52 bets to have in the remaining 54 betting days

13jul10 a bit better
19 bets 4 winners all pretty small odds, best was Mark D at 4-1. Lee had a winner to go back to 2nd but still 17.29 behind Vince. Jake in 3rd is a further 1.06 behind but as Lee has had 9 fewer bets than both Jake and Vince 2nd probably overstates his true position.
Plate - no change really at the top, slight dark horse is Gary D who has 6 bets in hand on the leader Rod and is only 20 points behind so within striking distance.

24 bets only 3 winners Rod with the usual short priced winner, Alan M with 13-2 and Dave F gets off the mark with a very nice 12-1 winner to go back level. Alan's winner lifts him into the money on +10.29 in forth Vince still leads by 20.26.

17 bets 5 winners including the leader at 11-4 (Jed and Neil also picked this), Ian C at 12-1, and Jake F at 9-1. So not much change Vince now slightly improved his lead to +20.26 as Jake has gone secong on +11.99.
Plate - Rod hit a 2nd for 2 points so with Kevin W missing the frame he extended his lead to 5 points.
Interestng little side note Barry (Boomer) James has now had 3 last place finishes in a row - never seen that before and they were not even outsiders I sense a new entry from Vince in the Roll of Honour

23 bets but only 4 winners and good news for the leader nothing longer that 2-1! Winners were Alan M, Gary D, Kevin W, me.

01jul10 nice day
22 bets and a very impressive 8 winners - this competition is of a very good standard but winners are mainly low priced winners which is no way for us to reel back in leader (Vince) who is running 17.67 ahead of 2nd place.
Best winner was Mark Orlando at 7-1 with a 9-2 and 4-1 to back that up all the rest were very short priced the shortest you guessed it from Rod at 2-5. He has now had 4winners from the last 6 bets and has lost 2p in the process!
