29apr14 2-0 down already!

There's me thinking Bayern were going to storm into the final and they are 2-0 down already and need to score 4!! good job I didn't have a bet!

10 winners today best was 12-1 for Mark Quinn the second good winner in 3 days was the bets of the day - too many others to go through.

In the plate my 5 pointer allowed me to move up to 5th and all the other leaders had the same winner except Justin who went for the big 10 pointer and missed it

Monday 28 April 2014

28apr14 big winners

A nice day today 35 bets 8 winners topped by Jon Curtis who got off the mark with a 20-1 winner to go +£2.00 and 18th place, Chris Pascoe 12-1 to go just 89p down impressed, Gary Dighton 5-4, Jon Hall & Matt Harrison both 5-1, Justin Sercombe 3-1 and a nice 10 points in the last at Naas, Paul Stobbart 7-2 and finally Tom Feeney 1-9 to consolidate in 8th.

In the plate didn't take long for Justin Sercombe to leap into a cash spot with his nice winner the otehr leaders all sat out.

Sunday 27 April 2014

27apr14 Chelsea :-)

8 winners today on what was a really slow day with only 21 actual bets.  Lots of short priced winners so best of the day was easy to claim for Mark Quinn with his 8-1 winner, Jed Parramore 11-4 and Tom Feeney 2-1 to move up to 8th were the 3 odds against boys.  Martin Long, Vince Paige, Barry Pemble & Justin Sercombe all picked the same 2-5 10 point winner and I chose a 4-9 shot.

So the top 3 in the plate have slightly moved away from the pack although expect Justin with loads of bets in hand to join them soon.  Leaving the rest of us to scrap it out for 5th place, the last cash spot.

Full details of the prizes now on the front cover of the excel that will be with you shortly

Saturday 26 April 2014

26apr14 nice pair

A solitary pair is all we managed today from 44 bets! But they were very nice ones and took both of the winners onto the leader board.  Best was Dave Kingsbury 14-1, McCoy doesn't ride too many winners at that price especially on a Saturday, nice one, and at the end of the day Colin Warmington popped up with a late 8-1 winner to go 8th.

I had one winner in the Scoop 6 which rolls over for the 10th time - for those curious!

In the plate clearly not much action I suppose you could just about say a good day for Barry & Martin as at least they picked up 2 points each.  Hard to call at the top, is two bets in hand for Vince worth 9 in the bank, the lead Martin has?  With Punchestown coming up next week and those big fields probably just Vince.

Kerri Smoothey and Andy Stevens both went dormy today

25apr14 Friday Results

Just 3 winners on Friday from 36 bets they were Vince Paige & Justin Sercombe at 8-13 and therefore best of the day for the remaining winner, Tom Feeney, 15-2 to leap back onto the leader board well just about anyway as he sits in 12th.  It is all very tight at the foot of the table Pat Quinn Snr in 8th on +£6.67 is only £2.42 ahead of Gary Dighton in 15th.

In the plate Vince's 5 point winner (3 non runners cost him the 10 pointer) moved him back to 2nd.

Thursday 24 April 2014

24apr14 nice ones!!

Some decent winners to report for a change best of the day went to our esteemed sponsor Kevin Dighton who finally got off the mark with a nice 12-1 winner.  Closely followed by Pat Quinn Snr with a 10-1 winner to move into 10th the last cash paying position.  Other winners were Martin Long evens, Gary Dighton brought up a treble with a 5-2 winner and he now sits one off the leader board in 13th, Jon Hall 4-1, Jimmy McGarrity stopped the rot and picked a nice 13-2 winner to move to just 25p down and finally Jed Parramore 8-13.

Loads of non runners at Tipperary tonight so not much action in the plate Martin's survived to run and he picked up 5 points - sure he can't believe that but there were 11 non runners in that race :-), no-one else scored.

Prizes are agreed basically the same as last time as only one player less, places 1-10 in the main comp and 1-5 in the plate.

Wednesday 23 April 2014

23apr14 double update

Tuesday 34 bets 5 winners best Vince Paige 7-2 (& 10 points)

Wednesday 42 bets 7 winners best Pat Quinn Snr 7-2

So as you can surmise not a great deal of movement with such a low priced set of winners.  Gary Dighton & Vince Paige were the only players to get a double in the period so that brought Vince right back to within 7 points of the leader in the plate, two games in hand.

apology

Sorry unable to update last night - pressure of work!

Will do a double day update tonight

Monday 21 April 2014

21apr14 Ordinary day

7 winners from a 39 bets a bit of a hotch potch of winners starting with the best of the day Colin Warmington Irish national winner at 8-1 to move back positive.  Other were Carl Dean 7-4,  Jay Lewis 8-11, Martin Long 5-4, Malcolm Mitchell 4-1, Rod Brown 5-1, Vince Paige evens.

Vince's 10 point winner helped his cause a lot as he retook 3rd place and looks ready to threaten the leaders fairly shortly.

Sunday 20 April 2014

20apr14 unstoppable

4 winners today and Pat Quinn Jnr, the leader, was one of them again with a 3-1 winner, others were Justin Sercombe 2-1, Dave Barker evens and best of the day 6-1 for Alan Mabb who now sits in 20th place.

All change in the plate as Martin Long's 5 point 2nd trumped the single point Barry collected and so Martin took over on top.  Vince slipped to 4th on count back and has 3 bets in hand over the leader but is 22 points behind so Martin looks good to me.

Jon Curtis went dormy today

Saturday 19 April 2014

19apr14 better

8 winners today with Mark Sharman taking the honours with a 9-1 winner to move back up into the cash in 9th spot, second best was the leader Pat Quinn Jnr with a very easy 13-2 winner to move back to double figures ahead of the field.  The other winners were Dave Barker 5-2, me 6-4 and 4 guys all on the same 4-7 winner, Vince Paige, Martin Long, Barry Pemble & Justin Sercombe.

So that meant that all of the top 6 in the plate all had 5 point winners.

Gareth Chapman became the 6th player to go dormy today

Friday 18 April 2014

18apr14 good Friday!

Well for 4 of us who had winners me 2-1, Martin Long 4-5, Tim Catlin 4-1 to pull to within £3.40 of the leader, and best of the day 5-1 for Jon Hall which puts him on -£2.47 and 23rd spot.

In the plate Martin Long closed back down to just one point behind Barry and I moved up a place with my 5 point winner as Paul Stobbart sat out.

We now have 5 players who are dormy they are Gary Dighton, Pete Long, Jake Fifield, John O'Neill & Lee Constable who moved to that status after today.

Thursday 17 April 2014

17apr14 a hand full

That's 5 winners today best of the day and for a while was Dave Kingsbury with a nice 9-1 winner to take him positive and into 17th spot.  Others were Annette Berg 9-4, Paul Berg 7-2, Alan Mabb 11-4, & Matt Harrison 5-2.

No movement on the plate i was the only scorer and that only a single point.

Wednesday 16 April 2014

16apr14 no better

Busy day 40 bets but no better on the returns still only 4 winners with a best of only 100-30 for Rod Brown and 5-2 for Wayne Morton.  Martin Long and I were the only others with our 4-5 winner at Newmarket.

Martin & I improved in the plate as everyone else had a bet except Barry but all failed to score.

Tuesday 15 April 2014

15apr14 another poor return

We are all definitely going through a bad patch here only 4 winners today from 35 bets.  Best of the day was Adam Slater 6-1 which moves him to 14th just 50p short of the leader board.  Other winners were Barry Pemble 3-10, and 9-4 for both Dave Barker & Roger Dore who got off the mark.

Barry has certainly nailed his colours to the mast and slots in another cert 5 pointer to go 18 clear 4 more bets which for me nudges him ahead especially as the big field novice hurdles in Ireland are few and far between now so not so many easy 10 point winners for Vince when he gets back!

Monday 14 April 2014

14apr14 another easy one!

Just a solitary winner among the 33 bets today, Gary Dighton at 9-4 that moved him to 14th just off the leader board.  Not much more to say!

Jake Fifield had the first forced loser of the comp and John O'Neill joined him on dormy today

Sunday 13 April 2014

13apr14 Bubba bubbling

7 winners today and joint best of the day on different horses were Lee Constable 13-2 to move 10th & Jon Hall 13-2.  Other winners were Adam Slater 11-4, Barry Pemble 1-4, Chris Pascoe 4-6, Tom Feeney 100-30, Terry Matthews 15-8.

With Vince away Barry is pulling clear and now sits 8 points clear but with 3 extra bets so possibly not really clear.

Saturday 12 April 2014

Friday 11 April 2014

11apr14 masterful

Barry Pemble returns to the top of the plate after a long absence with a nicely timed run this week his 5-4 winner today brought up a 4 timer and that's 8 winners from the last 11 bets.  Just three other winners today best of the day was Rod Brown who opened his account with a nice 7-1 winner, the others were Chris Pascoe 2-1, & Dave Barker 11-4.

Thursday 10 April 2014

10apr14 super winner

Jo Hutson catches a 22-1 winner to leap up to +£12.50 and 8th place.  There were 4 other winners me at evens to bring up a five timer, Barry Pemble & Justin Sercombe both 8-13 and Paul Berg 5-4 enough to nudge him ahead of Martin Long into 4th.

In the plate Berry Pemble moved ahead of Vince into 2nd on level bets and my run of wins finally got me onto the foot of the table in 8th.  Justin Sercombe seems to have switched back to plate winners and could be a contender as he sits on 41 points so if he converted his 5 in hand bets over the leader he would sit top.

Wednesday 9 April 2014

09apr14 Ireland back

At last back to a decent meeting in Ireland and I wasn't the only to spot that, three of us picked the 10 point 6-4 winner me, Martin Long & Jay Lewis another 3 picked the other 10 point winner at 4-5 Barry Pemble, Justin Sercombe & Vince Paige.  Best of the day was Gary Pascoe 6-1 but of most significance was Tim Catlin at 5-1 to close the gap on the leader to under £10 and finally Pat Quinn Snr also 5-1.

So lots of points collected in the plate and I suppose the only one to suffer was Pat Quinn Jnr who sat out and so lost 3rd place.

Tuesday 8 April 2014

08apr14 Complete Standstill

No movement at all today on either leader board which I think must be a first but when I looked at the cards today all you could say was what rubbish!!

Jo Hutson got off the mark today and posted the best of the day with a nice 17-2 winner and there were a further 4 winners they were Spencer Mills & Tom Feeney both 13-8, Jed Parramore 8-11 & Chris Pascoe 7-4.

What else can I say except go Chelsea you can do it, 4-1 is 28-1 on Bet365

Monday 7 April 2014

07apr14 busy for a Monday

8 winners today but nothing of note as evidenced by the joint best of the day for Jay Lewis &Tom Feeney at only 3-1, Jimmy McGarrity's 11-4 winner was just enough to push him back to the foot of the leader board, Steve Walton 2-1, Martin Long's 10-11 winner was enough let him steal 5th from Craig Connelly.  Finally three of us all picked the 4-9 winner in the first at Windsor and that brought up a rare event for me a three timer!!

In the plate Vince is away in the USA for the next two weeks so should be interesting to see how much ahead the others can get in that period, so a good start from Martin Long who goes 2 points clear in the lead on level bets.

Sunday 6 April 2014

06apr14 new tax year!!

6 winners today and the stand out was the 10-1 winner secured by two punters, Lee Constable to get off the mark and moved onto the foot of the leader board in 12th and Pat Quinn Snr to go back positive in 20th spot. Craig Connelly also picked up a nice 7-1 winner to move up 5 places on the leader board to 5th.  The other 3 winners were me 8-11, Mark Sharman 9-4 to hold on to 11th place and Gary Dighton 5-4 and a quick double to lift him to 14th.

In the plate Vince holds on to the lead as Martin Long's odds on selection just gets collared in the last at Ffos Las, but it is all very tight at the top now.

Saturday Correction

Sorry missed a winner from Dave Barker @ 3-1 tables over are adjusted

Saturday 5 April 2014

05apr14 Pat Smash!

Well that's what Pat Quinn Jnr has done to us all today after bringing up his treble with a 14-1 winner to move miles clear and already be certain to finish up for the comp great stuff.  Three all picked 9-2 winner Me, Jay Lewis & Tim Catlin, Annette Berg brought up a 4 timer with a 4-1 winner to move up to 8th and Adam Slater moved 14th with a 7-2 winner, Gary Dighton got off the mark with a 4-1 shot, and finally Jed Parramore moved back positive with a 9-4 winner.

In the plate most of the leaders failed to score and so Pat's charge took him to 2nd although 3 or 4 more bets than those by him so slightly a false reading.

Grand National Selections

At least one person has napped the following in the big one:

Tidal Bay, Long Run, The Rainbow Hunter, Big Shu, Burton Port, Balthazar King, The Package, Hawkes Point, Rocky Creek, Mountainous

04apr14 Steve's back

Steve Walton bangs in a 10-1 winner to stop the rot and move about level and take best of the day close behind was Pat Quinn Jnr with a 9-1 winner to move significantly clear at the top of the main leader board.  The other 4 winners were Annette Berg 7-2 to move onto the leader board for the first time this comp, Adam Slater 2-1, Barry Pemble & Craig Connelly both 6-4.

Thursday 3 April 2014

03apr14 100,000

We have just passed through 100,000 unique visits on the blog - well done us!!

10 winners today Craig Connelly 9-4 plus 3 sets of 3 Martin Long, Barry Pemble & Chris Pascoe all 4-9, best of the day 13-2 for the trio of Pete Long, Pat Quinn Jnr & Dave Kingsbury and the final 3 all at 7-2 and 10 points Pat Quinn Snr, Mark Quinn, & Paul Stobbart.  All of that didn't mean that much on the main leader board apart from Pat Quinn Jnr who nudged up a place or 2 into 4th.

More movement in the plate as Vince only scrapped a single point which allowed Martin Long and Paul Stobbart to catch right up.

Look out for the Grand National special offer 50% of losing stakes refunded on bets laid before noon Saturday.

Wednesday 2 April 2014

02apr14 four by four

4 winners again Wayne Morton 5-2 to go 6th, Tim Catlin best of the day 9-2 to retake top spot, Ian Carpenter 1-2 and Annette Berg 5-4 were the other two.

All quiet again in the plate Martin Long unraveled his 2 games in hand over the last two days and still remains 7 points behind

Tuesday 1 April 2014

01apr14 four again

And the four were all pretty minor Ian Carpenter, Annette Berg & Dave Barker all the same 11-10 winner with Martin Long consolidating with a 1-4 3 point winner.  Still that winner was enough to take Dave to the top of the table.
