Sunday 31 May 2015

31may15 Big winner

33-1 winner for Tom Feeney which clearly rocketed him up the table into 7th, but of more significance was Lee Constable's 11-4 winner to take him back into the lead 86p ahead of Tim Catlin again in this ding dong battle for the lead.  Terry Matthews and I both had a nice little 9-10 winner in Ireland, Richard Pascoe & Ian Carpenter both had the same 5-2 winner, and Justin just consolidated with a 1-5 winner and 3 points.

Saturday 30 May 2015

30may15 nice joint!

9-1 for the joint best of the day Pat Quinn Jnr, Paul Stobbart & Kevin Dighton which was enough to move Kevin onto the leader board on the bubble.  Annette Berg brought up a double and 3 from the last 5 with an even money winner, Justin Sercombe 1-2 to move 39 points clear in the plate I think we can say he has that sown up,  and finally Richard Pascoe 5-1 which moved him up to 5th.

29may15 late

Out on Friday night and half the naps were in the evening meetings!

So here goes 7 winners in total, Annette Berg 5-4, Dave Barker 5-1, Gary Pascoe 8-1 and best of the day, Justin Sercombe 1-2, Kevin Dighton 7-2, Maurice Edgington (me) 100-30, and finally Terry Matthews a nice 5-1 winner to move up two places to 6th place.

Thursday 28 May 2015

28may15 quiet one again

Richard Pascoe & Paul Stobbart 4-1, Justin Sercombe 1-4, Annabelle Carpenter 2-1, and Jimmy McGarrity 6-4 were the only winners.

In the plate two changes today after a static top 5 for many weeks, Barry Pemble finally overtook Vince and moved 2nd and I suspect, that for just a moment, given the games in hand by Terry Matthews, Kevin has moved into 5th.

Wednesday 27 May 2015

27may15 Tough one

Just 3 winners today, Barry Pemble 4-6 to move onto the main leader board and to move with one point of Vince in the plate, Steve Carter best of the day 7-1 but still in the bottom half and Gary Pascoe 11-4 to ove up a few places in mid table.

Tuesday 26 May 2015

26may15 Tim bounces back

6 winners most significant clearly Tim Catlin's 7-2 winner to go back to the top in this ding dong battle for the top prize.  Best of the day was 12-1 for Paul Stobbart, Barry Pemble evens to close right down on Vince in the plate, Annette Berg 7-2, Justin Sercombe 11-4 to go 3rd and Kevin Wood also 7-2 were the other winners.

Monday 25 May 2015

25may15 New old leader

Lee Constable lands a good counter punch today going back top with his best of the day 6-1 winner very tight now as he has 3 more bets to have.  5 bets in total so the other 4 were a nice 10 point winner late on in Ireland at 11-8 to put him favourite to get 2nd place in the plate now, Stuart Bentham & Wayne Morton both had a 4-9 winner leaving just Roger Dore his 7-2 winner sufficient to take him 3rd and not completely out of achieving a rare event of retaining his title only ever achieved once before by Colin Edward in 2006.

Sunday 24 May 2015

24may15 coming home

7 winners today best was 11-1 for Steve Carter but still not troubling the leader board.  The others were Vince Paige & Michael Brook both 11-2 and 10 points in the Irish 1000g, Andy Stevens 13-2, Adam Slater & Martin Long 3-1, and finally Wayne Morton 7-2.

Saturday 23 May 2015

23may15 Stand out winner

20-1 for Kevin Dighton to move him to just £1.60 down and 17th place well within striking distance of a cash spot.  8 winners in total the only other one odds against was me with a 4-1 winner to remain languishing in mediocrity, 4 picked Gleneagles at 2-5 they were Justin Sercombe, Barry Pemble, Stuart Bentham and  in a smart move now she is on the leader board Annabelle Carpenter.  Dad Ian also picked up a 8-11 winner and Carl Dean 4-5 to move back onto the foot of the leader board.

Friday 22 May 2015

22may15 where are you all?

Only 20 legitimate bets today OK there were a few non runners I could be excused for thinking I have a problem with my phone!

So only 3 winners and a new leader Tim Catlin 6-1 to take over from long time leader Lee Constable, but that was not best of the day that honour went to Paul Berg who picked only his second winner but it was the second one at 14-1 a couple more and he will be in the cash - nice one.  The other player who troubled the scorers was Andy Vinall who makes his first appearance on the leader board in 12th spot after a 7-2 winner.

None of the top 7 in the plate had a bet after Jacobean was a non runner.

21may15 youngsters rule

8 winners today to bring up the 500 winners but this is from 2478 valid bets a strike rate of just over 20% so not great.

So the turn of our other 13 year old player Jade Edgington to be joint best of the day at 6-1 along with Annette Berg and Dave Barker and Roger Dore.  Three other players had 11-4 winners they were Andy Vinall, Jimmy McGarrity (to go 9th) and Richard Pascoe (to go 7th).  Annabelle Carpenter kept up the good work bringing up a treble with a 9-4 winner which moved her onto the bubble in 11th spot.

20may15 hot over here

Sorry for the intermittent service away working in USA.  Wednesday saw an outstanding performance by our youngest player Annabelle who topped the days winners with a 8-1 shot that took her onto the leader board.  Three of the 4 leaders in the plate all picked the same 4-9 winner Vince was the one who missed out so it is looking like he needs something pretty special now to both keep Barry at bay and catch Justin.  The final winner of the 5 was Ian Carpenter with a dead heat winner at 9-4 to put him in 17th spot just 88p down

Monday 18 May 2015

18may15 even slower than yesterday

Just 4 winners the outstanding one was for John Hall 10-1 but he still sits in the bottom half.  The others were Martin Long 9-4, Terry Mathews 5-6 to nudge up one place to 6th & Dave Barker 7-4.

Vince used up his game in hand in the plate and failed to score so Barry's 2 point second continued the slow but sure reel in :-)

Sunday 17 May 2015

17may15 tough one

Just 5 winners today and three of them were on the same horse they were me, Barry Pemble & Terry Matthews 8-11, best of the day was Kevin Roberts 9-2 in the last that lifted him to 14th and the other winner was Matt Harrison 7-2 pushing him up to 5th.

In the plate Justin lost and Vince sat out so Barry Pemble was able to reel them in another 5 points.

Saturday 16 May 2015

16may15 Lovely day

Weather not our performance! 7 winners best of the day Martin Long who ended a bit of a drought with a nice 8-1 winner in the last of the day.  Justin & Vince got back on track and both picked the same 10 point 5-4 winner, Keri Smoothy 8-13, Terry Matthews & Jason McConkey both 7-2, and Gary Pascoe 11-4 were the others

15may15 Friday update

7 winners the best of which was Andy Vinall 9-1 to go £4.00 up in 13th place just 25p from the leader board Annabelle Carpenter with an 11-2 winner made progress with winners also for Annette Berg 5-2,  Adam Slater 11-4,  Barry Pemble 15-8, Matt Harrison 11-2 to go 8th, and finally Stuart Bentham 5-6.

In the plate both the leaders failed to score again so offering a faint chance to the chasing pack

Thursday 14 May 2015

14may15 The boy is back

Lee Constable hits back with a 5-1 winner to storm clear of Tim Catlin at the top of the leader board.  Only 3 other winners Annette Berg 7-2, Roger Dore 9-4 and best of the day for Carl Dean 6-1 to move him back firmly on the leader board in 9th.

In the plate the big two at the top have had a side bet not the heady levels once spoken of but ever since they have gone off the boil especially Vince looks like the pressure is telling - Go Barry Go :-)

13may15 10 up

5 of them were 11-4 winner in the first at York the 5 were Andy Vinall, Barry Pemble, Ian Carpenter, Justin Sercombe & Adam Slater.  Kev Roberts went back into positive territory with a nice 8-1 winner, Kevin wood consolidated in 5th with an 9-4 winner.  But the big news is that previous champion Paul Berg got off the mark after 40 attempts but with a very nice, best of the 14-1 winner.  The final 2 were Roger Dore 9-4 and Stuart Bentham 4-7.

Sorry late just going to do Thursdays results now!

Wednesday 13 May 2015

12may15 slow one

Just 3 winners but a good day for Kevin Wood a nice 7-1 winner to move him to 5th Pete Long brought up 3 in 4 days with a 7-4 winner and the remaining winner was 13-2 for Pat Quinn Jnr to move positive 38p up in 16th

Monday 11 May 2015

11may15 New Leader

After ages at the top Tim Catlin delivers the best of the day 11-1 and takes over by just 39p.  This was on a day when we also saw two new faces on the leader board Jimmy McGarrity 8-1 and moved 6th, Matt Harrison 5-1 to go 10th.  On top of all this change there was also 3 other winners these were Pete Long 2-1, Stuart Bentham 5-6 and Wayne Morton 15-8.

Sunday 10 May 2015

10may15 Leader does it again!

Yep, as soon as Lee Constable comes under a little pressure he slots in another nice little winner - but can he keep it up 100-30 today to move back over £6 ahead.  6 winners in total today so the other s were Vince, Justin & Barry all on the same 1-2 10 point winner in Ireland, Jimmy McGarrity 15-8 and Gary Dighton just scraped best of the day at 7-2 and also just scraped back onto the leader board.

09may15 leader comes under pressure

Spenser Mills popped in a 10-1 winner to storm into 2nd place other good winners were Pete Long & Gary Pascoe both at 10-1 in the bog one at Ascot and on a low scoring day the only other winner was Stuart Bentham at evens

Wednesday 6 May 2015

06may15 Some Big Movers

Mainly the three guys who picked Made in Paris at 10-1 and 10 points, they were Terry Matthews, Mark Sharman, and Justin Sercombe and we can all be sure that there is no truth in the rumours that bring in to doubt the true racing criteria used by Justin to select this winner that catapulted him into 2nd even though his daughter is called Paris :-)

The other three were Carl Dean 11-4, Andy Slater 2-1 to bring up a treble, and Keri Smoothy 5-4, back from a big break that cost her 5 forced losers.

Tuesday 5 May 2015

05may15 Very nice for Bingham

8 winners for us today and the leader once again showed us his class he has recently drifted back to the field and then today slotted in a 8-1 winner to storm clear again.  Others included the three plate boys who all picked a 5 point winner at 4-11 they were Justin Sercombe, Barry Pemble, & Stuart Bentham so with Vince losing they all made progress.  Andy Vinall is making recent progress as well bringing up a treble today with his 9-4 winner if he hadn't have already had 6 forced losers he wouldn't be far off the leader board now and sort of the same for Andy Stevens his 11-2 winner today was his 3rd in a week and again but for his 6 forced losers he would be level and in the top 20.  The others were Kevin Wood 10-11 to move up to 6th & Wayne Morton also 10-11.

Monday 4 May 2015

04may15 so much for 7 wickets then!

6 bank holiday winners best of them was the incredible winner for Roger Dore, See Vermont at Bath at 10-1.  Jade & I were on course it threw the jockey on the way to the 5f post bolted back up the track ran 3f past the post into the back straight then ran back got caught and walked to the start then won! I was surprised it even started.  Anyway that was enough to take Roger, the defending champion, up to an ominous 5th place just £9.91 behind the leader but Roger has had 15 more bets I think that makes him top.  Other winners were Andy Slater 9-4, Barry Pemble brought up a 5 timer with a 4-6 winner to sit 14th, Jason McConkey 5-2, Kevin Dighton 9-2, & Richard Pascoe 3-1 enough to nudge him up a place to 4th.

In the plate Vince & Justin for once went head to head in the same race and then they both missed out.  I hear there is talk of a world record side bet between them yet to hear if this is for real, probably just beer talk - well shandy talk in Vince's case :-)

Sunday 3 May 2015

03may15 Go England

Oh to be in Barbados to watch England take 7 wickets in this final session!

Firstly apologies to Annabelle Carpenter for missing her 9-2 winner on Friday which takes her into the top 20

For  today we managed 6 winners and all of them quite nice, they were Andy Vinall 9-2, Andy Slater 15-8, Barry Pemble 5-2, Danny Beaman 5-1 to go fifth, Matt Harrison 11-2 and best of the day and Tim Catlin 9-2 he goes 2nd.

Saturday 2 May 2015

02may15 Will-weather for me!

Mayweather to stop Pacquiao at13-2 and Firing Line to win the Kentucky Derby at 12-1 a nice little 96-1 double

Back here 7 winners today  Carl Dean got back on track with a 11-10 winner, Colin Warmington 5-2, Best of the Day was Dave Barker 6-1, Justin Sercombe and Vince Paige both selected a nice 10 pointer at 9-10 at Punchestown that brought up a 5 timer for Vince.  Kevin wood who is over in Punchestown picked a winner there at 11-4 which hopefully bodes well for a good trip and finally Stuart Bentham re-took 3rd in the plate with a 2-5 winner although clearly temporarily as Barry has 8 bets in hand!

Friday 1 May 2015

01may15 may not day!

Only winners today were the plate saddos looking for cheap points and as the top 4 all picked the same 4-11 winner not much action.  Kevin wood topped the day with his 4-5 winner to go 5th (on count back) in the plate and into the last cash paying position.  So the top 5 has a very familiar look to it!
