Been snowing all day here in Cheltenham and the hill is closed, probably 6"- 8" fallen and now it is re-freezing. 5 winners today Vince Paige & Terry Matthews 10 points and 4-5. That brings Vince & Stuart to half way and level at the top of the plate, (Stuart leads on # of winners countback). The world record points total is 309 so they are both running just ahead of that schedule - top stuff.
Now back to the real comp the other 3 winners were George Waters 7-1 to take over in 2nd and that was despite Paul Berg's 13-8 winner, the final winner was Jimmy McGarrity 7-2.
Ah well we played well I thought. 5 bets today no movement on the leaderboard whatsoever for the first time ever I think, but we did have 2 winners Steve Taylor 7-2 and me 15-8 as I had to resort to a race with less than 16 runners or I risk going dormy with so much abandonment going on.
Was it only me that thought all weather was supposed to mean just that. So a bit cold and Newcastle can't cope - all weather except if it is cold then is it!
Although there were 9 winners 4 of those were the same 4-7 winner for the current top four in the plate & 10 points. Chris Martin 11-4, Ian Carpenter 7-4 to nudge up a few places, Helen Fahey 2-5, Paul Berg 2-1 to go 2nd, & finally best of the day 7-2 for Tom McGarrity to return to the foot of the leader board.
Just two winners the leader at 9-4 to be the first to move to a position where he is certain to finish up for the whole competition definitely setting the standard. Other winner was Richard Pascoe 10 points and 9-2

With one more result to come from Dave Klein but forecast SP is not enough to trouble the leader board, we have had 6 winners Stuart Bentham 8-13, Frank Tubman maintaining his great form (5 from last 6) to move 6th with a 4-1 winner the same winner as Jimmy McGarrity. Joyce Dibble & John Heneghan both had 11-4 winners sufficient to move Joyce to 7th, Paul Stobbart 11-10 makes up the 6 so far.
Good if Spain win this group as that would keep them out of our side of the draw but probably put Germany in our half!
