28feb22 STELLAR PERFORMANCE

This could be the best comp ever we have had 216 bets between us to a level £1 stake and we are overall more than £60 up with the top 22 players all positive - well done well except me of course all I have managed to contribute from 51st spot is -£6.00 :-)

Today saw 5 winners best was Dave Klein in the last race 10-1 and straight into 4th, 3 players all managed to pick an 8-1 winner they were Steve Carter, Terry Matthews & Mark Sharman that leaves just tom McGarrity 5-6 matching his record of 5 from 6 so far.

Never seen the result in the 7.30 tonight before, 2 dead heats in the same race for 2nd & for 4th

The defending champ launches his bid to retain the trophy with a cracking 10-1 winner to sit clear at the top that was just 1 of only 2 winners on what was another pretty slow day with only 18 bets.  The other winner was rookie Mark Newton with his first ever bet at 6-4.

Defo up to 50 players now just one more to pay

Sunday 20 February 2022

20feb22 AND WE'RE OFF

Super slow opening day just 15 selections with 3 winners Frank Tubman & Pat Quinn both 3-1 and Richard Pascoe 9-4.

We are on 49 players with two who have said they are playing but are yet to pay - Chris Martin & Tom Lloyd Jones so could be 51.

Still space for others and really good to see a few guys returning who first played long ago, Terry Matthews #129, Tom Elliston #150, John Heneghan #143, Pat Quinn #97 and Ian Walters #68.  Ian last played in comp #32 in December 2012 - welcome back to the fold, where have you all been?

Excel on its way when I have worked out all the email addresses, shout if you don't get it later today

Saturday 19 February 2022

19feb22 COMP EVE

Here we are for the 49th time current target is 50 players but still waiting for 6/7 or so to pay so may come up short.  More welcome if you want to invite anyone.

We welcome so far 4 debutants, Mark Newton,  Stuart Proud, Tom Stanley and Brendan Bergin our second player from overseas (Ireland) so that might encourage us to celebrate the end of the 50th comp over there although Punchestown festival in 2023 may be too far out.

If we get to 50 we will be paying down to 8th place in the main comp and top 4 in the plate.  A few stats 1814 is the number of entries across all 48 comps from 223 different players - that's 110,954 individual naps.  Recording 17,807 winners or just 16% hit rate

Good luck all
