Thursday 31 March 2022

31mar22 BLANK

No winners at all from 29 selections!  So the only thing to report is the new leader Ben Cheetham by virtue of Vince's loser and him sitting out.

Wednesday 30 March 2022

30mar22 TWO DOZEN!

Five winners today and two very nice 12-1 shots Andy Warmington to zoom up to 5th and Gary Dighton to go positive on +8p and 21st.  Ben Cheetham picked up a 9-2 winner to go 2nd and just 92p off the lead others were Tom McGarrity & Mark Quinn both the same 13-8 winner.

CORRECTION: it was Mark Sharman not Tom McGarrity who had the 13-8 winner apologies all round

Tuesday 29 March 2022

29mar22 ANOTHER 4

Kevin Wood & Paul Stobbart both 11-8 to both return to the top 13, Stuart Bentham 2-9, & best of the day and off the mark for Steve Taylor at 3-1, to move him from joint bottom.

Monday 28 March 2022

28mar22 SAT OUT

The whole of the top 10 all sat out today and no one was able to make a move from the pack below although there were a scattering of winners, Pete Long 4-7, Helen Fahey 4-5, Kevin Wood 6-5 and Paul Stobbart 5-4 best of the day!

Sunday 27 March 2022

27mar22 BIG WINNER

Thought Tom Feeney's 28-1 winner was going to topple Vince as last show it went off at 33-1 but usual SP cut meant it was only 28-1 - good hit.  Jason McConkey picked a nice 10 point 17-2 winner to reappear on both leader boards and Vince & Stuart matched each other with the obvious 2-5 winner for Aidan O'Brien at the Curragh.

Saturday 26 March 2022

26mar22 POOR TIPPING

Just 3 winners among us today not helped by the fact that we had 12 naps in the Lincoln and the best we did was a plucky 7th!  Those that did get winners were Stuart 4-9, Tom McGarrity 13-8 to move up a lot of places as it is pretty tight in those places from 4th to 10th, best of the day reserved for our overseas player. Brendan Bergin, who got off the mark with a nice 17-2 winner to go 18th on +£1.50

Friday 25 March 2022

25mar22 VINNIE WINS

Np not Vince. Vinnie the Hoddie for Pete Long to record the best of the day at 16-1 to move up loads of places to joint 15th - must go now Friday night

Thursday 24 March 2022

24mar22 JUST 3

And one of them was me! best of the day 13-2 and a brought up all 10 point four timer - since I have had Covid I haven't had a loser not sure that's a tactic I would recommend or do again but hey!.  The other winners were both 6-5 for Frank Tubman & Kevin Wood who now sits just off the leader board on +£3.70 in 15th.

Wednesday 23 March 2022

23mar22 WHAT NO FOOTBALL!

3 winners today and the outstanding result was for Robert Dudley 11-1 to move from 39th to 18th others were Dave Klein 3-1 to halve the gap to the leader and Jimmy McGarrity 13-8 to move back positive in 17th spot.

Tuesday 22 March 2022

22mar22 ORDINARY DAY

7 winners today 4 of them were the 1-2 10 pointers for me, Vince Stuart & Terry Matthews which was enough to bring him onto the leader board in the plate.  Best of the day was 5-1 for Chris Martin, Ian Carpenter 11-8 & Ian Walters 3-1 to go 13th were the other 3 winners.

Monday 21 March 2022

21mar22 SLOW

Sunday 20 March 2022

20mar22 COVID

Yep I caught it at Chelters now in isolation.  Very light day today but we managed 4 winners Helen Fahey again 4-1 to move positive +18p and 18th,  Dave Brammer 5-1 to go 12th, Mark Lowry best of the day 11-2 & Jason McConkey after a lean period 9-2.

Saturday 19 March 2022

19mar22 GO ENGLAND

Well 7 winners and the best of the day was me! 12-1 winner in the Midlands National, Vince & Stuart both did the 1-8 winner to secure the 10 points.  Four other winners  Helen Fahey another winner 7-2, Ian Carpenter 11-4, Kevin Wood & Richard Pascoe also both 7-2 that let Kevin make the leader board.

Friday 18 March 2022

18mar22 GOLD

What a lovely day on course today weather wise and I think the facilities coped well although I left before all the football singing started after Elimay's win, there was definitely plenty of well oiled young lads around!

Two players got A Plus Tard Helen Fahey & Mark Sharman, Helen deserves a mention with the best Cheltenham record 3 winners.  Others were me 11-4 & 10 points,  Paul Stobbart on the aforementioned Elimay 9-4 & Tom McGarrity picking the winner of an impressively talented bunch of 4yo in the Triumph so 6-4.

That's it another year to wait again, on to Uttoxeter.

Thursday 17 March 2022

17mar22 BIG WINER

Pete Feeney takes all the glory with his 25-1 winner to move onto the leader board in 5th.  The other 5 winners were Ben Cheetham 4-6, Helen Fahy 6-5, Jimmy McGarrity & Stuart Proud both 4-1 and Mark Sharman 15-2 to go 10th.

Tuesday 15 March 2022

15mar22 FESTIVAL DAY ONE

Plenty of naps compers there today to see a couple of very special performances, Constitution Hill who broke all speed records on the Supreme and good old Honeysuckle retaining her championship.  Not the greatest day for us only 5 winners from 34 bets, Helen Fahey 8-11,  Ben Cheetham 6-4 to move 3rd, Mark Lowry 5-2 and 2 on Brazil at 10-1 they were Kevin Wood to reach the foot of the leader board and Pat Quinn to go 8th.

All ready for day 2 which is definitely not looking quite as good day as today so the Morry Multiple is Ahoy Senor 13-2 (1/5th first 5), Saint Felicien (1/5th first 8), & Amarillo Sky 17-2 (1/5th first 6).  Love these extended place bets even if you do suffer on the overall price a bit that's 413-1 for the win treble

Monday 14 March 2022

14mar22 ALL READY

Another 4 winners today as well they were best of the day for Andy Warmington 7-1 to go 9th, Frank Tubman 15-8,  Chris Martin 85-40 & Spenser Mills 5-2.

The Morry Multiple for tomorrow is (decent priced horses only) Death Duty 12-1, Haut en Couleurs 7-1, Champion Green 11-1 for a cool 1,247-1

Sunday 13 March 2022

13mar22 RARE EVENT

Same player heads both leader boards, after Vince follows up yesterdays winner with another 10 pointer at 7-2 to go top.  Other winners today were Steve Carter & Ben Cheetham both 11-4 and Stuart Bentham 2-11.

Good luck everyone for next week I'll be there every day so see you in the Quevega bar before racing expect me on course early except for Thursday big breakfast booked.

Saturday 12 March 2022

12mar22 SURPRISE ALL ROUND

Firstly that Vince picked a 20-1 shot which went and won and delivered 10 points as well.  He looked all over certain to be top of both leader boards but no, Dave Klein slots in a 7-1 winner in the evening meeting to jump over him by just 24p.  Only other winners were Stuart Bentham at 30-100 and Andy Warmington 4-1 which moved him to 14th, just off the main leader board.

So excitingly close at the top of the leader board - which is just a remote and forlorn distant view from where I sit in a plucky 44th place gallingly still below Pete!

2nd bottle of wine calls

Friday 11 March 2022

11mar22 RUGBY STARTING NOW QUICK

4 winners today Tom McGarrity 8 winners now so far and today 2-1, Terry Matthews & Pat Quinn both 5-2 and Ross Harvey also 2-1 enough for him to make his first appearance on the leader board this comp

Thursday 10 March 2022

10mar22 THE BLUES

6 winners clocked up today by Adrian Hunt 7-2, to move onto the leader board & John Heneghan 9-2 and thanks to those two for their selections I was bored so I back them both as they were the last two to run in a nice little double! Others were Chris Martin & Ross Harvey 13-2, Frank Tubman 9-4 to move 11th, Mark Sharman 6-5.  Vince took a slight initiative in the plate as Stuarts 1-5 selection got turned over and finished 3rd behind two 28-1 shots!

Wednesday 9 March 2022

09mar22 HIP HIP HOORAY

In joke!

A decent number of winners today 7 in total topped by Ben Cheetham & Robert Dudley both at 7-1, the McGarritys & Terry Matthews were all on an 11-8 winner, Mark Newton 13-8  and Dave klein 3-1.  The plate boys sat out again.

Tuesday 8 March 2022

08mar22 CHANGES

Just 5 winners today but some quite nice prices so plenty of movement on the leader board as a result.  Adrian Hunt off the mark with a 10-1 winner not quite enough to make the leader board but 13th, Dave Klein 11-2 to move 3rd, Terry Mathews 9-1 to go 4th, Mark Sharman 11-4 to go 9th & finally Helen Fahey off the mark at 7-4.  The plate boys both sat out.

Yellow and blue ordered ready for the crowds that pass next week!  3 winners Frank Tubman 9-4 Ben Cheetham 5-1 to move 5th and finally back in the groove Stuart Bentham putting his run of loser behind him with a 2-9 winner.

Sunday 6 March 2022

06mar22 RARE DAY

After 17 consecutive winners Stuart Bentham finally missed, 2nd at 1-5, but still enough to take him back top of the plate but only on number of winners count back, and both on level bets, will be interesting spectator sport for the next 11 weeks!  Just two winners today defending champ got back into the mix with a nice 6-1 winner to go 4th and Jimmy McGarrity made the foot of the leader board and without me extending it with his 100-30 winner.

Friday 4 March 2022

04mar22 CATHERDALS

Results before Robert Dudley's 8pm selection as I will be out! So 4 winners Stuart 30-100 to keep his 100% record intact Mark Lowry 8-11, Spenser Mills off the mark 11-4, & Sonya Paige also off the mark at 13-8.

Nice sunshine and tapas today :-)

Thursday 3 March 2022

Hello from Spain busier day with 5 winners but all pretty insignificant.  For the record they were, Frank Tubman & Mark Lowry both 5-6, Paul Stobbart 8-11, Roger Dore off the mark with a 2-1 winner & Ross Harvey also off the mark 7-4.

Off to a tapas bar adios

Wednesday 2 March 2022

02mar22 SOLITARY

Just one winner Andy Stevens 10-1 to leap up to 4th and that was it on another quiet day.

Tuesday 1 March 2022

01mar22 SPRING

Just 3 winners today on a slow day Tom McGarrity continues his super start with his 6th winner from 7 bets 15-8, Pau Stobbart off the mark with a 13-8 winner sand Pat Quinn 3-1 were the only others on a slow day which reflected the standard of racing, not just today but all week!
