28jan23 FINAL DAY

As is often the case not much movement on the last day as most of us were trying for a unlikely outsider to win.  Only 2 winners were Tommy Smith 9-2, unfortunately not quite enough to move him up a place so he stayed in 7th and Joyce Dibble 4-1, who just missed a top half finish in her first comp.

Thanks to all those who made it to the last day loads of us best turnout for a long time & of course congratulations to our two winners.

General feeling was next comp should start in time for the Cheltenham festival so looking at Sunday 5th March ending on Derby day Saturday 3rd June - we won't be going to Epsom so will probably target Worcester all TBC

Saturday 28 January 2023

GOT LED ATRAY

Mini interim update because I'm  touch the worst for wear having accepted an invite to go for a few drinks with Dave & Luke, two of the original naps compers

Both of the leaders retained their positions and won so congratulations to Stuart & Sonya - well done

Remember on the last day you must select from a race that is either in the last race at Cheltenham or before, can be from any course so no evenings nor the last at at Uttoxeter or Donny

26jan23 DAY OF DRAMA

Well obviously not for the Stuart Vince combo who once again picked the same horse that won at 2-5 and another 10 points - stupendous total from both world record is 309.  7 other winners Spenser Mills & Jimmy McGarrity both picked a 9-2 winner which for 50 minutes took Spenser back top only for Sonya to come back with an 11-4 winner of her own.  Lead is reduced to just 91p both with 2 bets left.  Two others also picked the 11-4 winner Helen Fahey and Mark Lowry and that was enough to take him 3rd.  the final winner was the best Paul Stobbart 25-1 to zoom him up to 8th and cash.

Cheltenham are inspecting for Saturdays 9 race meeting at noon tomorrow - not much frost here in Cheltenham I would be surprised if it didn't go ahead

25jan23 SHORT PRICES

Just 4 winners today 3 of them for Stuart, Vince and the leader Sonya at 4-9 so nudging Sonya a little further ahead the final winner was Ian Carpenter 8-11 to go 3p ahead of Colin into 4th place

Tuesday 24 January 2023

24jan23 NEW LEADER

Sonya Paige pops in a 5-2 winner to go past long time leader Spenser! On a day of few winners Dave Klein secured a nice 18-1 winner, needs a couple more of those, and ian Carpenter moved up a place into 5th with a 9-4 shot and that also starts to threaten my 4th place spot in the plate - I had better find a 10 point winner tomorrow and stop mucking about looking for the hail Mary in the main comp.

Monday 23 January 2023

23jan23 MOVEMENT

A few key winners today among the 6 we managed overall, Sonya Paige closed right up on the leader with a nice 100-30 winner, Colin Warmington & Tommy Smith both 4-1 and moved 4th & 7th respectively.  Andy Warmington made sure he didn't get a wipe out with a 2-1 winner, Martin Long 4-5 & finally Jason McConkey 9-4

Sunday 22 January 2023

22jan23 LEADER BUILDS AGAIN

Spenser picks up another winner this time 1-8 and moves a little further away as Sonya, in 2nd, had a loser.  Mark Lowry joined him with a 1-8 winner, Stuart & Vince matched each other again at 2-7, (the world record points total of 309 is still in both their sights), George Waters and Paul Berg were pretty fortunate to get their 7-4 winner after the leader fell at the last and the main mover of the day was Jimmy McGarrity 100-30 and now returns to the leader board in 13th.

Saturday 21 January 2023

21jan23 LEADER STRENGTHENS

A good day for Spenser with one of the 5 winners recorded today at 10-11 while those around him all missed.  The other 4 winners were Vince & Stuart matching each other again with a 4-9 winner each, Colin Warmington nice even money winner to sit 5th & Mark Lowry recorded a surprising best of the day winner at only 11-10, to sit 4th and hunting down a podium spot

20jan23 JUST 3 - CORRECTION 2

After basically 6 of the leaders all went for the same 2-5 shot that got turned over that just left Ben Cheetham 10-1, Colin Warmington & Terry Matthews on the same 6-1 winner as the only scorers, Colin moved well into the cash and Terry finally overtook me in the plate to move 3rd. That leaves me 16 points clear of Ian with 6 bets left just need to watch that I don't get passed again and end up on the bubble.

Ben's 10-1 winner was placed 2nd so the winner is lost - sorry for missing that

Thursday 19 January 2023

19jan23 BACK AND COLD

Just 3 winners today Jimmy McGarrity best of the day at 9-1 to move 19th but very close to the foot of the leader board.  Sonya Paige kept up the pressure of the long time leader with a 5-6 winner getting close now, finally Mark Lowry 4-5 to consolidate in 5th

Wednesday 18 January 2023

18jan23 SUMMER RACING

Another 7 winners for us today well spread this time, best of the bunch a cracking 16-1 for Andy Stevens probably too little to late unless he follows up Thursday.  Colin Warmington moved back into the last cash spot with his 5-1 winner, Dave Klein also managed a 5-1 winner but he is well back.  4-1 for Gary Cawsey 5-6 for Ian Carpenter & Tom McGarrity, 6-1 for Mark Sharman that gets him back on the leader board but with work to do.

Tuesday 17 January 2023

17jan23 STILL SUNNY AND WINDY

7 winners for us today 4 of them the 1-10 winner and 2 the 2-7 winner which just leaves Tommy Smith with his 6-1 winner best of the day and enough to move him 6th.  Back to the rum!

Monday 16 January 2023

16jan23 WIND AND SUN

5 winners today Sonya Paige & Stuart Bentham  avoiding a loser with a 1-10 winner, Mark Lowry 10-11 to keep reeling in the leaders, Tom McGarrity 13-8 & Jimmy McGarrity 4-1 for best of the day.

Sunday 15 January 2023

15jan23 BENIDORM

Off to Spain tonight until Thursday but should be fine to keep this up to date.  6 winners for us today Stuart Bentham & Mark Lowry secured certain winners at 4-11, which was enough for Stuart to stay ahead of Vince in the plate after he had a 7-4 10 pointer but only on countback.  Kevin Wood & Tom McGarrity both had the same 3-1 winner to both go back onto the leader board and Ian Carpenter kept up the good work with his 25th winner at 10-11.

Saturday 14 January 2023

14jan23 UNLUCKY CHELTENHAM

6 winners today, John Heneghan followed yesterday winner with a 12-1 winner to go positive and sit 11th other winners were me 6-4, Ben Cheetham 7-1, Mark Lowry 13-8, Stuart Bentham 10-11 & Ian Carpenter 7-4 to go 4th

Friday 13 January 2023

13jan13 ONE BIGGIE

John Heneghan lands a 33-1 winner to move from 46th to 23rd, 8 other winners 11-4 for Spenser to extend his lead a bit and same for Paul Berg to move up a place nothing else of much interest.

Thursday 12 January 2023

12jan23 QUIZ WINNERS

Managed to win the pub quiz tonight hence the late update! For us though few winner just two Steve Taylor 5-2 and Tom McGarrity 5-6 so very little movement on the leader boards

Wednesday 11 January 2023

11jan23 WATER WATER

More meeting lost tomorrow already to the rain looks like all weather again for a while.  8 winners for us half of them were the same 6-4 shot for Gary Cawsey, Sonya Paige, Spenser Mills & Steve Taylor so no change at the top.  the remaining winners were Colin Warmington 100-30 to move 8th, Dave Klein bet of the day 9- and also 6-4 for Ian Carpenter & Tom Mcgarrity

Tuesday 10 January 2023

10jan23 LAST RACE BIGGIE

Had to wait for Terry Matthews' bet in the 8pm and it was worth it 16-1 and 5 points so hunting me down in 3rd in the plate and zoomed into 8th in the main leader board - the only player in the cash in both. The other 3 winners were Brendan Bergin 12-1, Gary Cawsey 7-4 & Mark Lowry again 5-6 to nudge up another place.

Monday 9 January 2023

09jan23 STILL 0-0 AT HT!

11 winners for us today the most significant in terms of movement on the leader board were Colin Warmington 9-2 to go 9th and Sonya Paige 11-2 to take over in 2nd closing in on Spenser.  He was one of 3 players with a 2-5 winner along with Vince and Stuart.  The other 6 were George Waters 5-2, Ian Carpenter 6-4 to move up a place, Luke Silk 8-15, Mark Lowry also 6-4, Paul Stobbart 11-2, and best of the day 8-1 for Richard Pascoe but he needs a few more of them!

Sunday 8 January 2023

08jan23 20 DAYS LEFT

5 winners today 3 of them the 1-4 10 pointer for the top 3 in the plate as you might have guessed!  Martin Long followed up his winner yesterday with the best of the day today at 3-1 to return to the leader board & Sonya Paige (clearly guided by Vince) selected a 1-9 winner to gain a small amount on the 2 above her as they both has losers.

Saturday 7 January 2023

07jan23 SUPER UNLUCKY

Sonya Paige picks a 50-1 winner today but it is her 41st bet the last one where the 33-1 maximum odds restriction applies (rule #24) .  So instead of being £5 clear she is 3rd and £12 in arrears.  Spenser owes the rule makes a drink!  The only other winners were Mark Lowry who brought up a 6 timer with a 30-100 winner to sit in 8th and Martin Long 9-1 to go just £1 down

Friday 6 January 2023

06jan23 BIG DAY

Lots of winners, 10 in total, topped by Tommy Smith at 6-1 to move to 6th, Chris Martin 100-30, Colin Warmington & Steve Taylor 6-4, Ian Carpenter & Mark Lowry 11-10, Spenser Mills, looking ever more likely to be our winner 10-11, Tom McGarrity finally stopped the rot with a 16-5 winner.  The final two were Roger Dore bringing up a double with a 2-1 winner and of course Stuart Bentham 1-2 and 5 points to go top of the plate again by 1 point.

05jan23 duo

Just 2 winners Jo Hutson 16-1 to go 7th and Roger Dore 2-1

Wednesday 4 January 2023

04jan23 DARTS

5 winners for us and the only significant mover was Frank Tubman returning to the leader board in  7th after his 8-1 winner, all the other 4 had the same priced winner at 11-10 they were George Waters, Mark Lowry, Stuart Bentham & Ian Carpenter.

Tuesday 3 January 2023

03jan23 A DAY TO LEAVE ALONE

Much like tomorrow as well, but not for our 4 winners who were Joyce Dibble 11-4, Helen Fahey best of the day 9-2,  Jimmy McGarrity & Steve Taylor also both 11-4 winners.

Monday 2 January 2023

02jan23 TWO DAYS

5 winners yesterday and 4 winners today.  Today saw Spenser playing the "catch me if you can" tactics as leader with a 1-9 winner Gary Dighton picked up another decent evening winner at 8-1, to get onto the leader board for the first time this comp.  The other two were Chris Martin 5-4 & Mark Lowry 1-3.

Contacted everyone and recovered the missing texts but well worth checking I haven't made any omissions - problem with converting to my new phone - my daughters made me get a new one as mine was 8 years old!
