29jun24 PHEW THAT WAS AN EFFORT

Having set off from London at 8.30am this morning and not got to Cheltenham until 3pm i thought it was worth waiting for today's results - they are all now in.

Headlines are Chris Pascoe bashed in 3 winners across the 3 day update 1-3, 4-5 & 4-7 and with Jason's 3 losers that was enough for him to take over at the top again.  Tom McGarrity managed 2 winners and a 2nd so nicked 2nd spot in the plate from Vince on countback.  Other winners, excluding Chris & Tom were:

Thursday Ben Cheetham & Jimmy McGarrity both 15-8,  Richard Hunt 9-2, Vince Paige 1-5

Friday Maurice Edgington 7-2, Gary Pascoe 5-4, Robert Logan 11-10, Sonya Paige 5-2

Today  Helen Fahey 5-2, Robert Logan 8-13, Sonya Paige 10-11

26jun24 NEW LEADER - JUST

 Jason Stevens takes over at the top after a 10-1 winner to Chris Pascoe's 8-11 winner so just 29p in it. Those 2 were 2 of 7 winners Gary Pascoe 9-4, Helen Fahey 6-4, Ian Carpenter 11-4, Shelly Wood also on the same 10-1 winner but still a fair way behind and finally Tom McGarrity 5-6 to keep Vince interested! 

25jun24 BIG WINNER

One of only 3 today but 33-1 for Ben Cheetham to go from 27th to 5th - nice shot.  Other two winners was yet another consolidating in first place winner for Chris Pascoe 11-8 and 5 points for Steve Taylor with a 4-5 winner.

24jun24 THE BOY IS BACK

Yes that's me best of the day 11-1 winner to go 3rd and back with a chance, 5 other winners Carol Carter & Vince Paige both 6-1, Chris Pascoe & Robert Logan both 1-4 and finally Mark Nutting 5-2 to make it back to the leader board. 

23jun24 CONSOLIDATION PLAYS

 Four winners today the leader again evens, Gary Pascoe 13-8, Robert Logan also evens with Andy Warmington best of the day at 7-2 - and that was all!

22jun24 LOTS OF MOVEMENT

Caused by two of the principals picking the same 16-1 winner (Isle of Jura), they were Gary Cawsey  now 3rd and Jason Stevens now 2nd, tight at the top again.  Not to be left out of the 16-1 fest was also Robert Dudley who moves to just £9.00 down so not out of it.   As well as those 3 winners there were 3 more Gary Pascoe 11-8, Helen Fahey 4-5, & Steve Taylor 7-2 & 10 points putting him back in the race for cash in the plate.

21jun24 EASY UPDATE

 Just one winner on Friday that was for our leader Chris Pascoe at 9-4 - good play its getting tougher each day to catch him!

20jun24 BETTER PERFORMANCE

Certainly not talking about England! We managed 6 winners today, good change of tactic from the leader consolidating at the top with a 11-10 winner, the other 5 were 3 on the 9-1 winner at RA, Gary Cawsey, back on the leader board, Jimmy McGarrity & Richard Hunt lifting up to 2nd spot.  Gary Pascoe 15-2 to go 7th and Shelly Wood ends a long drought with the best of the day 12-1 winner.  

On course again tomorrow and then out for dinner on the way home - expect a Saturday update for Friday

19jun24 THREE AGAIN

Well that didn't last long Chris Pascoe banged in a massive 22-1 winner in the first today (that was 8-1 previous evening!) to take over at the top and Kevin Dighton 11-2 to go 2nd.  The only other winner was Robert Logan undeflected by the Royal meeting slotted in a 5 pointer at Worcester at 1-4.

The above assumes that the only evening runner, Pete Long's doesn't win - which looking at the selection is a fair prediction!   

18jun24 ANOTHER 3 INC A BIG ONE

And that was for me 20-1 at Royal Ascot and that zooms me up to 2nd spot and the first player who will definitely finish positive! 19 years (March 2005 comp #11) since I have won - can I not panic and push on to a win! Sure Vince will lay that :-)

The other winners were both 5-2 (Rosallion) for Tom McGarrity & Gary Cawsey who sit 12th & 13th respectively

Big mover today was Mark Nutting who secured 7-1 and moves up to the cash in 7th, other winners were Robert Logan 1-2, and Helen Fahey 11-4.

16jun24 THREE POINTS IS WHAT COUNTS

Just two winners for us today and for the second day in a row the whole leaderboard just falls back a £1.00 each!  The winners were a resounding 20-1 for Darren Mills now just £4.00 down in 12th and Helen Fahey 2-5 to move 5th in the plate.

Gallingly, Vince in the same race as me 100-30 - so no changes on the leader boards

6 winners and the main news is the same 18-1 winner for Kevin Dighton & Chris Pascoe clearly making a big change on the leader board.  Andy Stevens 8-1, 100-30 for Steve Carter but not enough to stop him falling down the table and finally Vince & Tom McGarrity both 10 points 11-10.

 7 winners in total topped by Darren Mills at 11-1 to go 11th just £2.00 down, others were Frank Tubman 3-1, Gary Pascoe 7-1, Kevin Wood 5-4, Paul Stobbart 7-4, Robert Logan 8-11 & Tom McGarrity 4-6.

Just 3 winners today and all odds on Helen Fahey & Robert Logan both 4-9 and Tom McGarrity 8-13.  So that meant that every person on the main leader board all dropped £1.00 so no change.

Some nice winners today best was Mark Nutting 20-1  to go 15th at just £4.00 down, Pete Long nearly matched Mark with a 16-1 shot to go 21st at £9.81 down.  The other 5 winners were Frank Tubman 11-8, Helen Fahey 100-30, Ian Carpenter 8-13, Mark Sharman 11-1 & Tom Feeney 9-1.  

All in all pretty good

After the excitement of Saturday back to reality 4 winners the same horse and points for Vince & Steve Taylor at 13-8, Helen Fahey 11-10 and best of the day for Richard Hunt 9-2 and moves to 3rd.

08jun24 FULL UPDATE

Twelve winners today, enough said about the historic 125-1 (at least he backed it but only at 80-1!).  Martin Long 18-1 to move up to 14th on -£4.00, Jason Stevens a nice 12-1 winner to take over as the new leader.  I brought up a treble with a 9-2 winner to make the foot of the leader board & Roger Dore picked the same winner, Kevin Dighton 9-4 to move 6th, Carol Carter pitched in with a 5-1 winner lets hope they doubled them up!  Ian Carpenter 3-1, Kevin Wood 10-11, Paul Berg 6-1 Vince Paige 13-8 & 10 points and even Pete Long had a winner 7-1.

Our best day of the comp so far even without the super winner. 

HIGH DRAMA - BEST EVER WINNER IN ANY COMP

Steve Carter picks the 125-1 winner of the first at Beverley, expect he is gutted that he has only had 33 bets so is caught by the rule that restricts the first 41 bets to a maximum of 33-1 - lucky for the rest of us! 

Still he has the honour of the best ever winner from the 122,000 selections in all the comps so far - wow

Firstly a logistical problem if England win group C and make the semi finals that match is on 6th July at 6.00pm so complete clash with the final day of this comp.  Perhaps thinking of having a blank day in the last week (no-one has a bet, no forced losers) so we push the final day to the Sunday - make a decision when we know the group outcome if they finish 2nd then their semi would be the Friday, surely they can't finish 3rd! 

Today 6 winners and another good day for Richard Hunt moved into 3rd with the best of the day again at 7-1.  The other 5 winners were, Gary Cawsey 13-8, Luke Silk 6-4, Ray Harper off the mark with a 4-1 winner, Steve Taylor 2-1 & 10 points to go back 2nd in the plate and Robert Logan 1-4.

3 winners today Gary Pascoe 11-4 to swap places on the leader board with his son Chris, Jimmy McGarrity 11-2 and best of the day 9-1 for Steve Carter.  All the top 4 in the plate did the same horse 4-5 that got turned over so no damage done in that race.
