Only 7 winners though, plate boys, Vince & Stuart both had the same 5 point 1-2 winner, Gary Pascoe 3-1 to move up to 7th, Harry Warmington 11-4, Ian Carpenter 1-2, Mark Lowry 3-1 and best of the day for Mark Sharman off the mark with a 17-2 winner to get to the leader board in 9th.  

29aug24 NEW BEST WINNER OF COMP

 Colin Warmington pops in a nice 14-1 winner to go 3rd & Kevin Dighton follows him onto the leader board with a 15-2 winner to go 4th.  Three other winners George Casserly again 4-9, Gary Dighton 11-8, & finally Karl Noble 9-2.

 5 winners Gary Pascoe 6-1 best of the day and goes back onto the leader board, Vince Paige 10 points & 11-10 to go top of the plate, Stuart Bentham 1-2, Ian Carpenter 5-6 & Tom McGarrity off the mark with a 4-1 winner 

27aug24 LEADERS FORGING CLEAR

Top 2 win again George 6-5 Harry 2-1, best of the day and off the mark for Martin Long 15-2 and the 4th and final winner was Steve Taylor also 2-1. 

26aug24 ALL NOW HAD A BET

Everyone has played so prizes confirmed (see over).  6 winners today and the last to play Gary Dighton started with the aptly named Star Start at 11-2 to go straight on the leader board in 6th.  The other 5 winners were Frank Tubman 9-2, Harry Warmington 11-8, Mark Lowry 5-4, Mark Nutting 9-2 to go 3rd and Richard Hunt brings up a double with a 7-2 winner and goes into 7th.

Lowest total of winners so far just 4 and they were (at last not George Casserly - sorry George!) Harry Warmington now 5 winners from 7 with a 15-8 shot, Mark Lowry 9-4, Richard Hunt, best of the day 9-2 & Terry Matthews off the mark 11-4.

Another 9 winners again today, George Casserly wins again 3-1 5 from 5 now, Andy Stevens 11-4, Ben Cheetham 4-1, Gary Cawsey 5-2, George Waters & Harry Warmington 3-1, Mark Nutting, Steve Carter, & Ray Harper all 7-2.

9 winners today majority not at York.  5 players getting off the mark including best of the day Pete Long 6-1, Shelly Wood 11-2, Karl Noble 10-11, Ronan Casserly 4-9, Gary Cawsey 4-1.  George Casserly unstoppable 3 from 3 with 3-1 winner now £13.50 clear! Dave Brammer 9-2 to go 5th, Stuart Bentham 2-5 & a good catch for Vince 10 points and 2-1 to sit on the bubble in the main comp and back in play in the plate.

22aug24 YORK DAY2

6 naps compers on course today but a tougher day all round although some did to manage to buck the trend and find some nice winners, of biggest impact was George Casserly now 2 from 2 with a 15-2 winner the same selection as Kevin Dighton.  Harry Warmington brought up a treble with a 3-1 winner and goes 6th.  Robert Dudley best of the day 17-2 and finally Jimmy McGarrity off the mark with a 3-1 winner as well.  

Well back to Dave Klein a late entrant so could be 54 now

22aug24 YORK DAY1

6 winners between us really should have been more.  Our first two double figure winners from George Casserly 12-1, and Adrian Hunt 10-1 these were both their first bets so they go first and second respectively.  Dave Brammer & Gary Pascoe both 5-4 on a star performance from City of Troy odds against looks generous now doesn't it, Harry Warmington 5-4 and Stuart Bentham 1-3 to go clear in the plate after bringing up a 3 timer.

20aug24 ON FORM

9 winners today so comp has started pretty hot.  Paul Berg maintains 100% record with 2 from 2 and goes top with a 100-30 winner.  Two other players went to 2 winners me with my not too risky 1-8 winner and Stuart Bentham 1-3 and 5 points to go top of the plate on count back.  The other 6 winners were Colin Warmington 100-30, Dave Brammer, Ian Carpenter & Harry Warmington all 6-4, Frank Tubman also 5-1 to go 4th,  and Richard Pascoe another 5-1 winner to go 3rd at this early stage.

York trip kicked off with a test night at Napoleon's Casino for Paul, Stuart & I, of course just to case the joint ready for dinner tomorrow although we did finish up a little, a good start to the wagering this week, looking forward to the Juddmonte tomorrow a classy renewal & Godolphin's £2.3M 2yo in the G3.      

19aug24 GATHERING PACE

30 players today and only 16 of us 53 left to start, another 6 winners they were Darren Mills & George Waters both on the same 9-2 winner, Stuart Bentham & Mark Lowry both on the same 4-11 winner, Jake Fifield 3-1 and Robert Logan 8-13.  All that leaves a familiar look to the top of the plate and Dave Fifield retains the main lead.

Forgot to welcome the 3 new players Harry Warmington, so 3 generations of the Warmington's playing Colin, Andy & Harry, Karl Noble a recruit from N Wales from my time up there, & Ronan Casserly, son of George, who got roped in on Kevin's 60th Windsor lads night, mainly because of the Oxford greyhound tips he got that evening!

18aug24 OPENING DAY

Not many played on the first day (16 out of 53) but 6 winners so pretty positive.  The day kicked off with Steve Taylor and Vince Paige both picking the only 10 point winner at 3-1, Mark Nutting also scored with a 3-1 winner, Paul Berg was top for a short while with an opening 11-2 winner but pipped by Dave Fifield 13-2 winner (back after a long break since December 2012!).  Finally I managed a 11-8 winner as well.

Will send out the excel but might be late/in the morning have to gather the group email together, as above 53 players (more always welcome) 2 still to pay, we will announce the prizes in a few days but plate will run to 4 spots and the main comp to the top 9
